    Abhishek Sharma spotted at Mumbai airport in blue outfit ahead of IND vs NZ 2026 T20Is [Watch]

    Star opener Abhishek Sharma was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Monday, January 12, ahead of the T20I series between India and New Zealand. The Men in Blue will host the Kiwis for five T20Is beginning Wednesday, January 21.

    Abhishek Sharma was seen at the airport in a dapper look. He sported a blue-collar t-shirt with torn denim jeans, shades and a watch. The star batter had his jacket in his hand as he walked in. He was also asked to stop for pictures by the paps present and posed for the same.

    In the end, he also got clicked with one of the paps before entering. Abhishek has been named in India’s squad for the New Zealand T20Is and the T20 World Cup 2026 as well.

    The left-hander is currently playing for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26. He has not been in the best of form, scoring 86 runs from three matches at an average of 28.66. Punjab are set to play Madhya Pradesh in their quarter-final clash in Bengaluru on Tuesday, January 13.


    Abhishek Sharma’s stellar 2025 season

    Abhishek Sharma had a brilliant 2025 season with the bat. In the IPL 2025, he scored 439 runs from 13 innings at an average of 33.76 and a strike rate of 193.39 with a hundred and two half-centuries.

    He was the leading run-getter in the Asia Cup 2025 with 314 runs from seven matches at an average of 44.85 and a strike rate of 200, including three fifties. In the T20I series against Australia as well, he was the highest run-scorer with 163 runs from five games at an average of 40.75 and a strike rate of 161.38.

    The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025-26 saw him score 304 runs from six games at an average of 50.66 and a strike rate of 249.18 with a hundred and two half-centuries.

    Overall, in 21 T20Is in 2025, Abhishek Sharma made 859 runs at an average of 42.95 and a strike rate of 193.46 with a hundred and five half-centuries. It will be vital for him to continue scoring in the New Zealand T20Is and maintain his form heading into the T20 World Cup.
