Charania hinted that AD’s 2025-26 season is “essentially over,” as the surgery will put him out for several months.

    Davis only appeared in 20 games this regular-season, the fewest in his 14-year career. During that span, he averaged 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals. The 10-time All-Star was on and off the starting lineup.

    “I’m told Anthony Davis will miss at least two to three months, he’s meeting with a hand specialist in Los Angeles to determine what type of surgery is required for this ligament damage in that left hand,” Charania said on “NBA Today.”

    “His season in Dallas is over because of the Mavs’ direction, where they’re at in the season overall.”

    The latest development on Davis’ condition with the Mavericks revealed that the organization has renewed trade talks involving the star. Charania reported that the Dallas brass have started to entertain potential trades with multiple teams. The league insider also said that AD could return in the postseason if he gets traded to a contending team.
