Drake Maye's wife opens up on Gisele Bundchen comparison

Drake Maye has thrived with the New England Patriots this season, and his wife Ann Michael is embracing the spotlight while addressing comparisons to Tom Brady‘s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen.

Ann Michael has captured fans’ attention through her TikTok series Bakemas, which showcased her baking skills and personality, building her own following separate from her husband’s football fame.

And during a recent One Bite pizza review segment with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, she revealed she reads comments comparing her to Bundchen, noting both praise and criticism.

“Yeah, it’s always, ‘Gisele could never this, Gisele would never that,'” Ann Michael told Dave Portnoy. “I’m like, Gisele is pretty – she’s been pretty good, guys.”

Ann Michael’s response reflects perspective and fraternity, acknowledging the Brazilian model’s success despite the criticism she has taken since divorcing the seven time Super Bowl champion in October 2022.

At the same time, she confidently stands by her own accomplishments in baking and content creation. Following the popularity of Bakemas, Ann Michael announced her next project, Beyond Bakemas.

Promising fans new content and further engagement with her growing audience, Maye’s on field performance has bolstered the couple’s visibility, as he throws for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns this season.

Far exceeding his rookie year totals and demonstrating elite quarterback play under Mike Vrabel, his success has intensified comparisons to Brady, given the Patriots’ strong campaign and Maye’s leadership in his second professional season mirroring the iconic quarterback.

Maye prepares for Texans clash with NFL MVP honors on the line

But the Houston Texans play a pivotal role in Maye’s career arc, having been the opponent in his first career start and now standing between the Patriots and a chance at the AFC Championship.

This 2025 NFL season, he has emerged as a premier deep ball passer, attempting the third most throws of at least 30 air yards and leading with throws traveling over 50 yards, completing 54.8 percent of passes beyond 20 yards.

His accuracy on long passes ranks among the league’s best, highlighted by a 37 yard touchdown to rookie Kyle Williams in Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens, exemplifying his poise and precision under pressure.

But Houston’s 2025 defense presents a stiff test, ranking first in passing EPA per play, fourth in pass yards per play, and third in quarterback completion percentage while boasting elite pass rushers Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson.

Maye previously struggled against Houston in 2024, turning the ball over three times in their previous matchup, and protecting the football will be critical as the Texans forced 29 turnovers during the regular season.

The Texans dominated the Wild Card round, sacking Aaron Rodgers four times and forcing three turnovers in a 30 6 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, signaling a formidable challenge for Maye and the Patriots.

If Maye excels in the divisional round against a defense that didn’t allow a single touchdown to Rodgers and returned an interception for a score, it could cement his MVP candidacy, as he currently leads in completion percentage, passer rating, yards per attempt, and QBR.

At the same time, he ranks top five in passing yards and touchdowns this season, so a standout performance against the Texans could solidify both Maye’s MVP credentials, provided neither Josh Allen nor Matt Stafford wins the Super Bowl.
