Everton now in contact to sign 6’3 defender alongside En-Nesyri

Everton are now reportedly plotting a move to sign a new defender alongside Fenerbahce forward Youssef En-Nesyri this month.

Fabrizio Romano shares update on En-Nesyri chase

Despite the rejuvenated form of Thierno Barry in the last month, Everton are still after an attacking reinforcement this month and that could come in the form of En-Nesyri.

The Fenerbahce forward is the subject of an official offer from the Toffees, according to Fabrizio Romano, as they look to strike a loan deal with an option to buy worth €20m (£17m).

Joined by Nottingham Forest in the race to secure the 28-year-old, Everton will have to wait until the end of Morocco’s AFCON run to potentially welcome their new striker.

After defeating Cameroon, Morocco are set to square off against Nigeria in the semi-final before potentially meeting Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Senegal in the final.

It’s easy to see why those in Merseyside are interested in En-Nesyri. The Fenerbahce man, whilst not always spectacular, has been a reliable forward for a few years now from Sevilla all the way to Fenerbahce.

The Toffees have received an indication over whether they will be able to lure him to Merseyside.

So far this season, he’s scored eight goals in 25 games, more than both Beto and Barry, and there’s no doubt that he’d slot straight into David Moyes‘ best side.

Alas, Everton may not be done there. In a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and with new owners in the Friedkin Group, the Toffees have renewed ambition which could see them welcome another reinforcement.

According to Bola Na Rede in Portugal, as relayed by Sport Witness, Everton are now plotting a move to sign Kevin Boma from Estoril Praia this month.

Standing at 6 foot 3, 23-year-old Boma could enter Everton to become the long-term replacement for Michael Keane, who’s on course to leave as a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

The Togo international would hardly break the bank, either. Estoril are reportedly demanding just €5m (£4m) to sell their towering central defender this month in what they consider to be a significant price.

Rudy Galetti’s report has gone one further to say that Everton have already enquired about a potential deal to sign Boma this month, rather than still watching on from afar.

Their reported enquiry suggests that Everton are certainly not waiting around for other clubs to swoop in for what could quickly become a bargain deal if Boma reaches his potential.

Both En-Nesyri and the 23-year-old defender could prove to be all-important arrivals as the Toffees attempt to secure a top-half finish this season.
