Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game 31-27 on Sunday and secured their spot in the Super Bowl.
The wide receiver, Cooper Kupp, played a key role in the game and helped defeat his former team. However, his wife surprised everyone with a strong message.

Anna Marie did not hide her disappointment
At the end of the 2024 season, the Rams decided to release Kupp after eight seasons and a Super Bowl win in 2022 against the Bengals. As a free agent, Cooper signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the Seahawks. In his first season, the wide receiver played 16 regular-season games, 15 of them as a starter, recording 47 receptions for 593 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, in this vital game, Kupp caught four passes from Darnold for 36 yards and virtually sealed the victory by catching a 13-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter with 4:52 remaining.
After the game and the celebrations, Anna Marie Kupp, the WR’s wife, decided to share a thoughtful message on her official Instagram account. She posted a photo of herself and her husband and wrote:
“Not all of you will understand. It’s not about bitterness or letting something go. It’s about remembering how lost and confused we were. Not having a choice. The questions and the confusion,” Anna began.
“We trusted, we leaned in, we knew God was good regardless of circumstances. Faithfully walking through so much that was unseen to the public. Watching my husband be disrespected by so many people we thought were in our corner. Learning, releasing, forgiving. But not forgetting because that takes away from the gravity and weight of how we had to trust a good GOD and how he CARRIED ME,” she said, concluding, “I am in awe and I will not downplay that!“
Although Anna did not provide context in her statement about who or what situation she was referring to, it is clear that her disappointment in those she believed were on her side has not left her.
Meanwhile, Kupp and the Seahawks will face Drake Maye and the New England Patriots, who are coming off a victory over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. The Super Bowl will be played on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco at 6:30 p.m. EST.
