IND vs NZ series ended in favour of India by a margin of 4-1.
India yet again delivered a dominating performance in the T20I series against New Zealand, capping off the series with a win. They registered a 46- run win at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Opting to bat, India piled up a gigantic total of 271 for five, in response, New Zealand tried hard, but managed only 225.
India had a poor start with Sanju Samson’s poor run continuing as he managed just six. But, after that, it was all about Indian batters. First, Abhishek Sharma (30) played a brutal hand to capitalise on the power play. After that, the show was stolen by Ishan Kishan (103), who hit a brilliant century and almost sealed his spot for the T20 World Cup 2026.
He was well supported by captain Suryakumar Yadav (63) as the duo were all over the bowlers, hitting them all over the park. The duo added 137 runs for the third wicket that took the team’s total past 200 runs. Hardik Pandya (42) finished the innings brilliantly as India posted a massive total of 271 for five.
IND vs NZ: Arshdeep Singh’s fifer helps India win fifth T20I
New Zealand were off to a flying start as well, courtesy of Fin Allen (80) even though they lost Tim Seifert early. Allen along with Rachin Ravindra (30) put India under pressure and kept the run rate in check.
The duo added 100 runs inside just 48 balls as the Black Caps were right on the track for the chase. However, spinners changed the game for India as New Zealand kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Arshdeep Singh, who was taken for 40 runs in the first two overs, made a strong comeback and picked a fifer. India ended New Zealand’s innings for 225, winning the game by 46 runs.
