Just as it looked like forward Paul George was gaining some momentum with the Philadelphia 76ers, he’s back at square one.
On Saturday, the NBA suspended George for 25 games after violating the league’s anti-drug policy, according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
In a statement, George took accountability for the suspension, saying the failed test came “in the course of recently seeking” treatment for mental health.
“I made the mistake of taking an improper medication,” George wrote, adding, “I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the Sixers organization, my teammates and the Philly fans for my poor decision making during this process.”
