Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCBW) scripted history in the WPL Final 2026, pulling off the highest successful run chase in the tournament’s history to defeat Delhi Capitals Women by six wickets in a high-scoring contest.
Chasing a daunting target of 204, RCB rode on a sensational 165-run partnership between Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll, who combined to turn the final on its head after an early setback.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals put up a formidable 203/4, led by a fluent 57 from Jemimah Rodrigues. She found able support from Laura Wolvaardt (44) and Lizelle Lee (37) at the top, giving DC a strong platform.
RCB’s chase got off to a shaky start at 9/1, but what followed was a masterclass in controlled aggression. Mandhana and Voll counter-attacked with fearless strokeplay, dismantling DC’s bowling across all phases.
The duo added 165 runs off just 92 balls, registering the highest partnership for any wicket in WPL history. Mandhana anchored the innings with elegance and authority, while Voll matched her intent with powerful boundary-hitting, keeping the required rate well under control.
The win marked RCB’s second WPL title, and heartbreak continued for Delhi Capitals, who suffered defeat in a final for the fourth time
