Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth called a Super Bowl together for the first time on Sunday, but at least one person was not impressed with it.
Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons, who is currently recovering from a torn ACL, wrote on his social media:
Thanks for the submission!
“Commentary of this game is hilarious!! I think everyone but them knew this would be defensive game!”

Before joining NBC, Tirico had been the lead commentator for ESPN and ABC’s Monday Night Football from 2006 to 2015, where he most notably worked alongside Jon Gruden. He assumed the NBC role in 2022 when longtime announcer Al Michaels departed to lead Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football coverage.
In 2025, he also became a primary announcer for NBC’s NBA coverage, albeit initially in a limited capacity while Sunday Night Football was ongoing. Among other games, he called the season opener between the Houston Rockets and the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
He is also the studio host for NBC’s ongoing coverage of the Winter Olympics in Milan and various places in Northeast Italy.
Mike Tirico got candid on calling Super Bowl for first time in broadcasting career
In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Mike Tirico discussed what it meant to call his first-ever Super Bowl. The first thing he revealed was seeking out Kevin Burkhardt, who called Super Bowls LVII and LIX for Fox, for advice:
“We have been in touch with each other by text the last three years or so and see each other at NFL meetings. I’m such a fan of Kevin and his story. … His first one was only three years ago, so it’s fresh in his mind. I’d love to take the advice of somebody who I admire just to hear, ‘Hey, here’s what I learned, here’s what you’re probably gonna experience.'”
He continued:
“I just want to do the proper job of documenting the game, informing and entertaining the audience, and you’re on to your next thing in your life. It’s the greatest single sporting day in America, people are gathered around their TV. Nobody’s gathering to watch me and Cris, they’re gathering to enjoy the game.”
Super Bowl LX is currently viewable on NBC and Peacock. The Seattle Seahawks currently lead the New England Patriots 6-0.
