Fernando Mendoza led Indiana to its first national championship in program history on Jan. 19, beating the Miami Hurricanes 27-21.

The quarterback and the Hoosiers (16-0, 9-0 Big Ten) had an unbeaten season. Mendoza also won the Heisman Trophy on Dec. 13.

Although he had a stellar final collegiate season, it will be interesting to see if he can replicate similar success in the NFL.
