Wheels Manufacturing Adds Colorful Shimano Direct Mount Options to Its Growing Chainring Lineup

Colorado-based Wheels Manufacturing makes a range of cycling components, tools, and small parts. The brand recently added to its growing product lineup with direct-mount MTB chainrings for SRAM 3-bolt cranks last year. At the time, Wheels said those chainrings were just the first in its growing chainring selection. Today, Wheels Mfg. walks the talk by adding direct-mount options for Shimano cranks. Like the SRAM versions and Wheels’ other products, these new chainrings are made in the U.S.A. and offered in an array of eye-catching anodized colors.

Wheels Manufacturing Direct-Mount Chainrings for Shimano

Wheels Manufacturing tells us its new direct-mount Shimano chainrings are CNC-machined at its Colorado facility from premium 7075 aluminum. They look nearly identical to the SRAM 3-bolt version launched last year, with the main difference being the unique Shimano Direct-Mount interface. They are made to “deliver the perfect balance of performance, durability, and precision” and “keep your drivetrain running smooth, quiet, and reliable on any terrain.”

For precision and smooth drivetrain performance, the Wheels chainrings are made in two distinct tooth profiles, optimized for use with SRAM T-Type and Eagle chains or Shimano Hyperglide+ and KMC 12-speed chains. They are offered in 28, 30, 32, and 34T sizes, and 1.5mm inboard and 1.5mm outboard offsets.
