What is Pakistan’s record at R.Premadasa Stadium in T20Is? | CricTracker

The iconic R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo is set to host the historic encounter as India will be taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15 in a group-stage game of the T20 World Cup 2026

After all the drama surrounding the much-anticipated clash, it is going to take place as per plan. Both the teams are in great form in the ongoing multi-nation tournament, winning the two games they have played so far.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side has been a dominant force, beating USA and Namibia to occupy the top spot in Group A. They currently sit atop the table with four points and an impressive net run rate of +3.050.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have also claimed two victories, and are currently are at the second spot, below India. Hence, the upcoming fixture will decide the team that will finish at the top of Group A points table.

What is Pakistan’s record at the venue?

The Men in Green have enjoyed a strong run in T20Is at the venue. In all, Pakistan have played seven T20Is at the venue and have won five of those with a solid win percentage of 71.4%.

They have faced Sri Lanka four times, winning on three occasions. Interestingly, they have also faced India at this venue in T20 World Cup 2012. India won that match comfortably by eight wickets. So, despite having a solid record at the venue, Pakistan have faced a defeat against India at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

Historically, teams batting second have been more successful at the venue. In 62 T20s, only 26 matches have been won by defending teams, while chasing teams have recorded 35. Therefore, whoever wins the toss would want to field first.
