Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe has somewhat fallen out of Rookie of the Year considerations with the play of Cooper Flagg in Dallas and Kon Knueppel in Charlotte, but he reminded everyone why he was the third-overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Edgecombe – playing for the victorious Team Vince coached by Vince Carter – was named Rising Stars game MVP for his 17-points in the win over Team T-Mac (coached by Tracy McGrady) and nailing the championship-sealing free throw against Team Melo (coached by Carmelo Anthony).
“It feels great man. For Philly, baby,” he said after the win and honors.
“Hopefully the Rising Stars championship is just the first I win this season.”
