The partners of Team Canada’s men’s hockey roster have been making the most of their time in northern Italy, and Connor McDavid‘s wife Lauren Kyle offered a look at how on Wednesday, sharing a series of pictures from what appeared to be a group dinner and outing in Milan.
On her Instagram stories, Lauren posted photos from an evening out with several of the Canadian partners at a cozy Italian restaurant followed by an afternoon by the water with friends including Rachel Dunford who was tagged in the stories.
The dinner pictures show the group seated around a long table and among those present was Kathy Leutner, Sidney Crosby’s longtime girlfriend. A separate story reposted from Rachel Dunford’s account showed Lauren and two friends posing outdoors by the water in coordinating red and white outfits.

On the ice, Canada defeated Czechia 4-3 in overtime to advance to the semifinals with Mitch Marner scoring the winner. McDavid picked up an assist in the win taking his tournament total to 11 points in four games. However, Crosby left the game in the second period with a lower-body injury following a collision and did not return.
Jon Cooper addressed Sidney Crosby’s early exit with lower-body injury
Midway through the second period of Wednesday’s quarterfinal against Czechia, Sidney Crosby took a hit from defenseman Radko Gudas in the neutral zone and then got caught between Gudas and Martin Necas along the boards on the same shift.
He labored getting off the ice, received attention from a trainer at the bench and walked back to the locker room shortly after. He did not return for the remainder of the game having played just seven shifts for 4:41 of ice time.
Head coach Jon Cooper spoke to reporters following the game and did not hold back on how significant the moment felt inside the locker room.
“You just rarely see it, and so for him, something definitely went wrong,” Cooper said. “But he just thought he wasn’t in a position to help the team for the rest of the night.”
Despite not returning to the ice, Crosby addressed his teammates between periods, something Cooper pointed to as a turning point in the game.
“He couldn’t come out for the third, but he did address the players, and I think that was a big thing coming in,” he said. “If we lose this game, we didn’t want this to be Sid’s last game at this Olympics. So it was a big motivator for the guys coming out.”
When pressed on whether Crosby would be available for Friday’s semifinal, Cooper said:
“Right now, I don’t know.”
Crosby is expected to undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury.
After the game, Radko Gudas mentioned that he was simply trying to finish his check and that he hopes Crosby is okay going forward.
