Drew McIntyre has levelled concerning accusations against his WWE rival Cody Rhodes. The Scottish Psychopath won the WWE Undisputed Championship from Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match last month on SmackDown.
With WrestleMania 42 looming, fans are waiting to find out who McIntyre will face at the event, after Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns decided to go after the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW.
Thanks for the submission!
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is among the four stars that have qualified for the Elimination Chamber match to determine McIntyre’s opponent in Las Vegas. This gives him the opportunity to win back the Championship.
However, McIntyre has made it clear that he doesn’t want the American Nightmare to win the Title again. During an appearance on the Busted Open Podcast, he accused referees of favoring Rhodes and said he doesn’t want him to be protected again.
“I’m concerned concerning how the first two matches went and the referees bailing him out, and for the cage match. I overcame Cody and Jacob. And I can’t get the title back on Cody, where he’s protected again; he’s back in the Golden Boy spot. I liberated this title for everybody,” he said.
McIntyre said he needs to carry the future on SmackDown and to make sure the show remains unpredictable and not all sunshine and lollipops.
Drew McIntyre tried to cost Cody Rhodes a chance to qualify for the Elimination Chamber
Last week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes faced Sami Zayn and Jacob Fatu in a Triple Threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match.
During the bout, Drew McIntyre showed up to attack both Fatu and Rhodes. He laid them out and even placed Zayn on top of Rhodes for the referee to count the pinfall. However, the match didn’t end there.
This led to the Undisputed Champion making his way to the ring again and beating up Rhodes. Zayn then hit McIntyre with a Helluva Kick to take him out, but Rhodes delivered a Cross Rhodes on him to win the match and earn his spot in the Elimination Chamber.
