Designated hitter Marcell Ozuna signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Feb. 9. A week later, Ozuna became a subject of criticism after Paola Faria alleged he went on a date with her, but left without paying the bill.
Faria is a Venezuelan-born radio host and media personality. She is a host of the Dominican program, “Sin Filtro Radio Show.” The Venezuelan radio host disclosed the alleged date incident on the show, “Mañanero Sports,” on Monday.
On Thursday, Ozuna’s wife, Genesis, appeared on the “Sin Filtro Radio Show” via call to speak about the matter. Faria was also present, and the two women engaged in a back-and-forth exchange.

Genesis voiced frustration, saying Faria indirectly dragged her name into the matter. She stressed that Faria should use her media platform to further her professional growth, rather than personal disputes.
Genesis also pointed out her 17-year relationship with Ozuna. She even used the term “one more Pokémon” on Faria, implying a lack of significance in the media personality’s actions.
Faria pushed back against Ozuna’s wife. She argued that their marriage isn’t as stable as portrayed. Faria also clarified that it was just a dinner and no physical intimacy was involved.
Moreover, the media personality urged that Genesis direct her words toward her husband. Faria also stated that she was unaware of Ozuna’s marital status during the date.

Paola Faria addressed criticism she faced after her conversation with Marcell Ozuna’s wife, Genesis, on Friday’s episode of the “Sin Filtro Radio Show.” She insisted she has always been honest in her profession.
Faria also pointed out that she doesn’t have any criminal record and threw shade at Ozuna and his wife. She referenced the MLB slugger and his wife’s legal troubles during his Atlanta Braves stint.
Therefore, Faira claimed that if anything bad happened to her, Ozuna’s wife and her inner circle would be responsible
.In June 2020, Genesis was arrested for allegedly hitting Ozuna with a soap dish, resulting in facial lacerations. She was charged with domestic battery. In May 2021, Ozuna was arrested for aggravated assault on his wife. The incident put him on administrative leave
Marcell Ozuna’s felony charges were later dropped and replaced with misdemeanor charges. He underwent a six-month domestic violence intervention program and anger management counseling. He also did 200 hours of community service.
Despite the legal troubles, the couple remained together. They even appeared together at the 2024 All-Star red carpet with their three children.
