    IND vs SA saw India facing their first loss in T20 World Cup 2026.

    After 12 consecutive wins, India finally tasted a defeat in the T20 World Cup 2026. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team suffered a 76-run defeat at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday to suffer their first loss of the tournament. Put into bat, South Africa posted 187 for seven, in response, India got all out for 111.

    South Africa had a poor start to their innings as their top-order had a tough time against Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. They were struggling at 20 for three when Dewald Brevis (45) and David Miller (63) brought their team back in the game.

    The duo counter-attacked the Indian bowlers, adding 97 runs for the fourth wicket. Tristan Stubbs (44*) made sure he cashed on the platform set by middle order and played a brilliant hand in the end. Thanks to his strong finish, South Africa posted a total of 187 for seven.

    India lost Ishan Kishan for a duck in the first innings and then wickets fell like a pack of cards. Tilak Varma struggled as well and there was a start for Abhishek Sharma but he managed just 15.

    India were left reeling at 51 for five with all the big guns back in the game. Hardik Pandya struggled with his timing and fell early but Shivam Dube (42) kept fighting hard till he also gave up.

    Marco Jansen picked four wickets, while Keshav Maharaj picked three wickets as South Africa bundled out India for 110 to win by 76 runs.
