In an unbelievably talented era of American soccer, Jameese Joseph is emerging as an exciting asset for the Chicago Stars and the United States Women’s National Team. Following a productive five years at NC State, the attacker was drafted to the Chicago Stars Football Club. Now, the 23-year-old has received her first call-up to the senior USWNT and looks to be a promising piece for coach Emma Hayes ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
Jameese Joseph’s East Coast Roots
Born and raised in Beltsville, Maryland, Joseph played her youth club soccer for Bethesda Soccer Club. With Bethesda, she was one of the top goal-scorers in the Elite Club National League, dominating the youth scene in Maryland and surrounding states.
Joseph played her high school soccer at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, where she would lead her team with 30 goals during her senior year. That year she would be selected to play in the All-American Game in Orlando.
Representing the Wolfpack Well
Joseph would move onto North Carolina State University, where she would collect numerous accolades throughout her five seasons with the Wolfpack. As a freshman, Joseph would start all 23 games and earn ACC All-Freshman Team honors.
Following a shortened Covid season in 2020-2021, Joseph would post the two best statistical seasons of her collegiate career in 2021 and 2022. She would lead the team in scoring with nine goals in 2021, earning Second Team All-ACC honors. She would then follow that season up with a team-high eight goals in 2022, which would earn herself Third Team All-ACC honors.
Joseph finished her collegiate career in 2023, yet again, earning herself Third Team All-ACC honors on the back of a three-goal season. Throughout her five seasons at NC State, Joseph accumulated 24 goals, 10 assists and three All-ACC Team honors on her way to the NWSL. She left NC State having gone down as one of the most productive and reliable players in program history.
To the NWSL and International Scene
In 2024, the lifelong east coast native would pack her things for the Windy City. The Chicago Red Stars (now Chicago Stars FC) would go on to select Joseph with the 15th pick in the 2024 NWSL draft. Chicago showed their commitment to Joseph, having traded longtime Red Stars’ defender Arin Wright for the pick used on Joseph.
The attacker would begin her time in Chicago with two goals and two assists across 23 games, nine of which she would start in. In her second season with the Stars in 2025, Joseph would see an uptick in playing time and scoring, posting four goals and two assists across 16 starts and 23 total games.=
However, Joseph’s future isn’t just bright with the Chicago Stars – there’s a lot to be excited about with her future on the USWNT as well. After her call-up to the senior national team, Joseph made her debut in a friendly versus Italy on November 8, 2025. This would be followed by Joseph earning the start in a friendly versus Chile on January 27, 2026. In the 27th minute, Joseph would score the first goal of her senior international career with a beautiful left footer from near the edge of the box. This would be the second U.S. goal in a 5-0 onslaught over Chile.
Joseph earned another international accomplishment this February, being named by USWNT coach Emma Hayes to the SheBelieves Cup roster. Joseph will likely play a big role in the team’s SheBelieves Cup games versus Argentina, Canada and Colombia in March.
A Budding Star on the Soccer Field
From her time on the youth scene, to her five seasons at NC State, to the beginning of her career in the NWSL and with the USWNT, Joseph’s game has continued to evolve and improve. Her athleticism and creativity with the ball already makes her a threat on the pitch. However, her youth and the increased role she is earning in both the NWSL and international competitions shows how bright the future can be for soccer’s budding star, Jameese Joseph.
