Twitch faces backlash for unbanning Lacari following notepad controversy

Lacari’s Twitch channel has been reinstated, 34 days after he got banned for displaying a notepad window with access to an adult platform, which allegedly contained suspicious file names that were explicit and illegal in nature.

For context, Lacari’s Twitch channel got banned on January 22, 2026, after videos from his livestream went viral on X and Reddit, during which he accidentally displayed a notepad window with six tabs open for a few seconds.

The anime games streamer eventually addressed the matter on January 23, 2026, via an X post, and announced indefenite hiatus from content creation, adding that he had admitted himself into a 30-day p**n addiction recovery program.

On February 25, 2026, @StreamerBans, an automated account on X, informed the online community that Lacari’s Twitch channel had been reinstated after one month, two days, and 21 hours.

The update became a hot topic of conversation on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit, with many Reddit users expressing their displeasure with the Amazon-owned livestreaming platform’s decision.

“Shares link to some nassssty s**t to an audience… unbans him one month later… man this is weird timeline” Reddit user t40r wrote.

“Wow, twitch doing something dumb? What’s new. On an unrelated note, did anyone check to see if Dan is in the files?” Reddit user Gacka_is_Crang_lmao remarked.

“interesting, i thought it would be a perma for sure” Reddit user moouesse stated.

“What does it actually take to get permabanned from twitch?” Reddit user splitneon commented.

“It is absolutely f**king vile” – Mizkif says Twitch’s decision to unban Lacari is “disgusting”

Kick streamer Matthew “Mizkif” has shared his thoughts on Twitch unbanning Lacari’s account. During a Kick broadcast on February 25, 2026, the former OTK (One True King) member called Twitch’s decision “disgusting” and “absolutely vile.”

    He added:

“It is disgusting. It is absolutely f**king vile. But, yeah, we’ll see what happens. I mean, I can’t believe he’s unbanned. I thought Twitch would perma him, to be honest with you. Let’s see one thing, though. Kick.com/Lacari. He’s still banned. So, Twitch unbanned him, but Kick left him banned.”

As of this writing, Lacari has not commented on his Twitch channel being reinstated.
