Uncertainty surrounds Travis Kelce's return as broadcast opportunities emerge.

While the only certainty in the life of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is that he is planning his wedding with Taylor Swift, there are still doubts about his future in the NFL and whether he will return next season to catch passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was sidelined in the final stretch of the season due to an injury.

But as rumors continue, a new one has emerged: there could be a new path for Kelce to remain in stadiums, though not as a player for the Chiefs.

According to Andrew Marchand, senior sports media writer at The Athletic, there could be an opportunity for Taylor Swift’s fianc to join television broadcasts as an analyst and, in that way, remain close to the NFL. The path to doing so would come amid the possible departure of Kirk Herbstreit.

Herbstreit’s contract is nearing its conclusion and, amid the possibility of an exit, names such as Greg Olsen and J.J. Watt are already being considered. However, Kelce is not ruled out as a potential candidate should he decide not to continue in the NFL.

What does Kansas City think about waiting for Kelce?

Kelce’s decision is entirely in his hands. The Chiefs have stated they will give him all the time he needs to decide on his future, although general manager Brett Veach has also said the Chiefs are “prepared” to begin the 2026 season if he chooses not to continue, and they have worked on a Plan B.

“We try to position ourselves that way no matter what. We have a plan for the future,” Veach said in recent days. The executive noted that Travis is a key piece and that they currently maintain a positive dialogue, but the team’s planning continues even if he decides to leave the NFL.

    Fans want Olsen

While Kelce has generated significant popularity through his podcast as well as his relationship with Taylor Swift, some fans have questioned the possibility of him joining Amazon Prime broadcasts.

For a segment of fans, Greg Olsen is the right person to take on the role and, although they respect the Chiefs player, they do not want to see him as a commentator.

Kelce has not yet said whether he is close to making a decision, but time is running out and, while Kansas City can wait for him, the moment is approaching when he will have to step forward and announce what his next move will be.
