European giant panicked as Tottenham and Man Utd contact in-demand manager, he’s open to joining

Tottenham manager Igor Tudor is expected to be replaced this summer, and the board have already begun making contact with possible candidates.

Perhaps surprisingly, Mauricio Pochettino will not be one of those options as things stand.

According to Alan Brazil, speaking on TalkSPORT, links to the USA manager are unfounded, and Spurs have not even reached out to the Argentine.

“I had a chat with someone yesterday and the latest is Poch… they’ve not even spoken to Poch.

“No, not even spoken to him. So I don’t know what they’re doing and I don’t think they know what they’re doing.”

Tudor admitted this week that saving the club from relegation would be the biggest challenge of his career to date, with the Croatian also sharing a positive injury update ahead of Sunday’s trip to Fulham.

The 47 year-old will be boosted by the return of defender Kevin Danso and full-back Pedro Porro for Sunday’s fixture at Craven Cottage, having been without a full XI of first-team players for the defeat to Arsenal.

Micky van de Ven, who has faced criticism this week after a clip on social-media suggested the Dutch centre-back had ignored the instructions of Tudor against the Gunners, could also return.

It wouldn’t be enough to buy his left foot.

While the manager is preparing for what he calls his biggest ever rescue job however, the club are already on the prowl for his replacement, having made contact with a Bundesliga manager who is also wanted by Manchester United.

According to reports in Germany, via Sport Witness, Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovač is a man in demand, having already received approaches from Tottenham, United and Chelsea.

Dortmund are weighing his future having been knocked out of the Champions League in dramatic fashion this week, but the German giants still believe he is getting the best out of their squad and are now fearful of the interest from England.

For his part, Kovac is open to joining a Premier League club, but wants to stay focused on his role at Dortmund until the end of the season.

Kovac is under contract at the Westfalenstadion until the summer of 2027, meaning a compensation fee would be required to make a move happen this year.
