A current AEW star admitted to being miserable every week during his time in the WWE while reacting to a fan. The star departed the Stamford-based promotion nearly two years ago.
The former United States Champion Ricochet recalled frustration during his time in the WWE. The Future of Flight was with the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut from 2018 until his departure in 2024. Following his exit, Ricochet joined All Elite Wrestling and is currently the National Champion, as he became the inaugural title holder at Full Gear 2025.
Lately, Ricochet has been expressing frustrations over his run in the Stamford-based promotion through social media and interviews, saying the promotion tarnished his legacy. He recently reiterated on an X social media post that his legacy was tarnished there while also admitting that he did enjoy a lot of his time there.
A fan on X commented on Rico’s statement, saying he makes it seem he was miserable during his time in the Stamford-based promotion.
Reacting to the fan’s comment, the AEW National Champion admitted that he was miserable creative wise every week:
“Creative wise, I was. Every week,” Rico wrote.
Veteran urged ex-WWE star to learn from AJ Styles
The wrestling veteran Stevie Richards recently asked the ex-WWE star Ricochet to watch and learn some in-ring stuff from AJ Styles. Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, Stevie highlighted what Ricochet is missing that Styles has:
“I would say AJ Styles would be somebody that Ricochet should watch because AJ mixes a Ricochet-like style with that Georgia Bulldog mentality where AJ looks like he still wants to fight. He looks like he’s nasty in some ways. And that is the missing element of Ricochet. The cartwheels, handstands are perfect,” said Richards.
Fans will have to wait and see what’s next for Ricochet in AEW as the National Champion.
