Arsenal have now joined the race to sign a Championship talent alongside Manchester United and a number of other Premier League clubs.
Arteta “prepared” for Chelsea clash
After a brief slip, Arsenal reaffirmed their title ambitions against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and are now set to face Chelsea in the hope of sending another statement.
Mikel Arteta is well aware of the task at hand, however, even if Chelsea are without a defeat against Arsenal in their last eight Premier League meetings.
The Spaniard told reporters: “What we’ve done two weeks ago or two years ago is irrelevant, because every game and context is different. The players might change, the mood of the teams can be in a different state or what is at stake is different, and we are prepared.
“When you finish like this you only want to be first. That’s it. That’s the aim. Always get better, always try to excel the possibilities of the team.”
It’s not just on the pitch that Arsenal are enjoying success, though. Away from the action, the Gunners are also planning ahead for the summer.
Desperate Arsenal star tells agent to work on summer exit; Champions League giants very interested
A potential blow for Mikel Arteta…
Recent rumours suggest that their focus is on welcoming a new fullback amid concerns over Ben White’s future. The former Brighton man has fallen down the pecking order in North London and could look to leave.
In his place may well be Michael Kayode. Reports have claimed that Arsenal are interested in the Brentford right-back, but could yet decide to pursue a Championship alternative.
Arsenal join race to sign Kellen Fisher
As reported by TeamTalk, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Kellen Fisher after completing their scouting mission on the Norwich City defender.
At 21 years old, the right-back has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign, especially since the arrival of Philippe Clement. As such, he could now have his pick of Premier League clubs.
Racing alongside Arsenal, Manchester United have also watched Fisher this season – sparking an all Premier League race. Given that the Red Devils are on course to secure Champions League football, too, there’s every chance that Fisher is handed a difficult decision.
Arsenal will be hoping that their potential Premier League crown sways the 21-year-old, however, as they look to commence what could be another impressive summer transfer window.
The player, himself, must also consider game time wherever he goes after only just beginning to make the right-back spot his own at Norwich.
