WWE is seemingly making changes to the presentation of some wrestlers. The sports entertainment juggernaut recently filed trademarks to secure a nickname, a team moniker, and five ring names. The trademarks are associated with some NXT stars and a main roster talent.
On February 27, WWE filed applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The company secured the Lasskicker and The Vanity Project monikers. For those unaware, Becky Lynch was known as the ‘Irish Lasskicker’ in the past. Meanwhile, The Vanity Project is the name of a faction in NXT.
Thanks for the submission!
The creative team could be working on a new character for Lynch called the Lasskicker. She recently lost the Women’s Intercontinental Title to AJ Lee at Elimination Chamber 2026.
World Wrestling Entertainment also filed trademarks for Sean Legacy, Eli Knight, Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes, and Brad Baylor. Drake is the inaugural and current Evolve Champion. Smokes and Baylor are from Evolve, too, and are the NXT Tag Team Champions.
Jackson, Ricky, and Brad are part of The Vanity Project. Meanwhile, Legacy and Knight are part of NXT, coming from WWE ID.
WWE NXT will host its first major event of 2026 next weekend
NXT’s first major event of 2026 will be Vengeance Day. The show will be held at the Performance Center in Orlando. The main event will likely see Joe Hendry defend his NXT Championship against Ricky Saints.
Izzi Dame will put her Women’s North American Championship on the line at the event. She will go up against her former tag team partner, Tatum Paxley. One more match that could be added to the card next Tuesday is Sol Ruca vs. Zaria. The former best friends recently parted ways and look set to feud in the developmental brand.
Lola Vice will lock horns with Kelani Jordan in an NXT Underground Match. A rematch between Myles Borne and Ethan Page for the North American Championship could also take place on the show.
