Austin Wells opened up working with Albert Pujols at the World Baseball Classic
Apart from the opportunity to play with some high-level players in the Dominican Republic squad, Austin Wells will also have the chance to work with a legend like Albert Pujols. A two-time World Series champion and 11-time All-Star, Pujols has achieved numerous accomplishments that cement his place as a legend in the world of baseball.
Wells recently opened up about being able to work with a manager of that stature. YES Network uploaded a video on Facebook on Saturday in which Wells was being interviewed after the Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1.
When asked what excites him the most about working with Pujols, Wells said:
“Yeah, just so much experience playing high level baseball. I am looking forward to listening to what he has to say and getting to experience him managing.”
Wells also said he would be using the remaining days until the World Baseball Classic to prepare and get ready. The Dominican Republic is placed in Pool D in this tournament, and they will be playing their first game against Nicaragua on Friday.
