Triple H has been in charge of WWE’s creative for the past few years now. The King of Kings is apparently unhappy with a major WWE Legend following an incident at the AAA Lucha Libre Hall of Fame ceremony. The person in question is none other than the former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Konnan.
WWE acquired AAA Lucha Libre last year and the announcement was made during the WrestleMania pre-show last year. Since then, both promotions have hosted multiple events in collaboration with each other. At Triplemania XXXIII last year, AAA hosted their Hall of Fame ceremony which featured the induction of Konnan.
Thanks for the submission!
The Legend gave a long speech to thank all his fans and peers during the ceremony. However, it may have ticked off some people backstage in WWE according to two of Konnan’s close coworkers. The coworkers in question, Cibernético and Potro talked about this on the Taverns of Sin podcast.
“When he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Konnan hung on too much in his speech,” said Cibernético.
Potro added to it revealing how Konnan’s speech made WWE officials angry.
“And that caused a big thing, I mean, Triple H and all the people from WWE got very angry because his Hall of Fame induction was supposed to be quick and Konnan spoke too much.” [H:T/RingsideNews]
It will be interesting to see if this incident will affect Konnan’s position in AAA’s creative in any way.
Triple H himself had a very long Hall of Fame speech
Triple H was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year by his best friend Shawn Michaels. This was the Game’s second Hall of Fame induction as he joined the 2019 Class as a member of D-Generation X.
Triple H’s speech at last year’s Hall of Fame was arguably the longest speech someone had given after getting inducted. It went on for nearly 68 minutes and saw people in attendance dozing off. The speech became a very popular meme on the internet during last year’s WrestleMania season.
It will be exciting to see if Stephanie McMahon will also give a long speech at her induction this year.
