    LIV Golf faces big setback as 8 golfers remain stranded in the Middle East following ongoing conflict

    The LIV Golf Hong Kong is less than 48 hours away, but some golfers are yet to arrive. Eight players are still stranded in the Middle East as flights have been halted due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

    LIV Golf returns this week after a three-week break following LIV Golf Adelaide. The third event of the season will be played from Thursday, March 5, to Saturday, March 8, at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. However, the eight players do not have much time to reach the venue, or they will have to skip this week’s action.

    As per the popular golf tracking X account, Flushing It, Lee Westwood, Laurie Canter, Sam Horsfield, Adrian Meronk, Thomas Detry, Caleb Surratt, Tom McKibbin and Anirban Lahiri are the eight names who have not reached Hong Kong yet. The players are booked onto multiple flights for Tuesday, considering the safety of their families.

    Some are scheduled to reach Hong Kong after a flight from Oman to Thailand, while the rest have direct flights from Dubai. However, they do not have much time to reach the spot, and LIV has reserves lined up in case they do not arrive on time.
