Everton are now keeping tabs on a Bundesliga midfielder, who has already been scouted by Brighton & Hove Albion and is on the radar of AC Milan.
Moyes: Everton “deserved” Burnley victory
It was a routine evening for Everton against Burnley in the end, as they returned to winning ways at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and helped David Moyes shut down any questions about recent home form.
The veteran manager admitted that he was getting bored of questions surrounding his side’s home form, so will certainly be glad to have picked up all three points without much drama.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Moyes said: “It was a good win and we deserved a victory in the end and we scored a couple of good goals to go with it. It (the home record) wasn’t the biggest thing that bothered me at all.
“The question actually has been a bit boring over recent weeks because I think we’ve actually played quite well here and not won and that can happen in the Premier League.”
Everton hatch plans to sign “phenomenal” Champions League star outscoring Beto and Barry combined
The Toffees are keen on signing a new striker.
The win also came on the same night that Liverpool suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers, closing the gap to just five points between the two Merseyside rivals.
There is no doubt that European football would boost Everton’s transfer window. They’ve already been linked with moves for the likes of Harry Wilson, and he certainly wouldn’t mind playing on the biggest stage of his domestic career yet.
He’s not the only name on the Toffees’ radar, either. The Friedkin Group are seemingly ready to back Moyes for the second summer in a row and fend off Premier League competition in the process.
Everton keeping close tabs on Baumgartner
As reported by Sports Boom, Everton are now keeping close tabs on Christoph Baumgartner, who has already been scouted by Premier League rivals Brighton.
RB Leipzig’s attacking midfielder is an experienced player these days, and is still at the peak of his powers at 26 years old. It’s easy to see why Brighton, Everton, Inter and AC Milan are beginning to scramble for his signature too, given that he’s been involved in 17 Bundesliga goals so far this season.
“Christoph is quick, possesses a threat on goal and is a very intelligent player. He can play with both feet and has an incredible shot. His skills and abilities lend another aspect to our game. Baumi is also a good guy: down-to-earth, eager.” (former Leipzig sporting director, Max Eberl)
Amid rumours that both Milan giants are also interested in the attacking midfielder, European football feels like an absolute must for Everton if they want to sign Baumgartner this summer.
Next to the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye, there’s every chance that the Austrian would bring his Bundesliga form straight to the Premier League next season.
