Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson recently shared his reason for avoiding “anything political” during an appearance on the Good Guys podcast, hosted by Josh Peck and Ben Soffer on YouTube. The discussion took place in the episode titled ‘The Reality of Being MrBeast (Part 1)‘ on January 11, 2026. At the 23:53 mark of the podcast, MrBeast explained that if he takes a political side, his project Beast Philanthropy is “gonna be half as effective”:
“We just don’t do anything political just because we do so much where we help people in need. And like, it’s like, Beast Philanthropy, the second I start taking a side politically, it’s instantly gonna be half as effective because then, you know, the other half of the aisle is just not going to support it or help it.”
He went on to explain the type of work he carries out through Beast Philanthropy and Feastables. He noted that taking a political side will prevent Beast Philanthropy from having the “maximum impact”:
“And we, we feed hundreds of thousands of people a year and, you know, we just, uh, did a project where we’re getting two million people clean drinking water. And with Feastables, we’re getting a lot of kids out of illegal child labor, and so it’s just not worth it in my case. Like, if we actually wanna have maximum impact.”
MrBeast explains how he became “emotionless” to negative comments after reading millions online
MrBeast explained how he deals with negative comments at the 25:46 mark of the same podcast. He stated that after reading more than a million comments over the past 15 years, he has become “emotionless and stonewalled at this point”:
“So, it’s interesting though because I- I’ve read so- like I probably spend whatever an hour, hour and a half a day reading comments or tweets or whatever about me and our content. I’ve probably read so- or I have read probably over a million, millions at this point over the course of the last 15 years. And so, I’m so like emotionless and stonewalled at this point.”
He also stated that he would feel “nothing” because of how many comments he’s read from people who love him or hate him:
“Like, you could tweet at me like, ‘Jimmy, go f****** kill yourself… I don’t like, I hate you.’ And I could read that and I would literally feel nothing because I’ve read so many things on both sides of like the spectrum of people who love me and people who hate me. You just like get numb to it over time.”
MrBeast further talked about his perspective on publishing content online, stating that it’s not possible to “make a 100% (of people) happy.” He added that if 95% of people enjoy his online content, that is all that matters:
“And all you’re looking for, though, is like did 95% of people enjoy it? Did like your video. Did 95% of people, you know, what did they feel, right? You don’t want to, you never overindex on the crazy loco, you know, outliers. And um and that’s kind of what you’ll see, you know, uh is like as long as like 95ish% of people enjoyed what you put out or liked it, then you’re good. But you’re never going to make a 100% happy.”
In other news, MrBeast shared a detailed breakdown of the prize money given to contestants in Beast Games Season 1 and Season 2. He also showed how the winnings were distributed among the participants.
