WWE has two nights of WrestleMania to shock the world with great action, guest appearances, and memorable moments. Stars like Cody Rhodes and the Hardyz returned at different WrestleManias.
Snoop Dogg and the Rock have appeared to go over talent like the Miz and Erick Rowan. The Hall of Fame is already taking shape with Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, and Demolition receiving the honor for the 2026 class.
Thanks for the submission!
What other surprises could be up Triple H’s sleeve for the two-night extravaganza in Las Vegas, Nevada? Here are five bold predictions for WrestleMania 42.
#5. Gunther retires Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42
Gunther’s entire gimmick over the last eight months has been the Career Killer. He’s sent Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles into retirement. However, only Cena and Goldberg competed knowing it was their final match.
Rey Mysterio is towards the end of his career and has been injured multiple times in the last three years. He’s been off television since the Royal Rumble, as Dragon Lee has defended Styles’ honor.
Lee is also Mysterio’s protege, so the ongoing issues between him and Gunther could lead to a WrestleMania match with the Lucha Legend. The Ring General only wants stars to retire, so Mysterio could be his next target.
#4. Kit Wilson accuses a WWE Legend of being “Toxic”
Kit Wilson’s new gimmick has made him popular with the fans. He accuses nearly every star of being toxic for their overbearing need to be alpha males. Wilson has accused Damian Priest, Oba Femi, Matt Cardona, and several others of this.
With WrestleMania season rolling into focus, some WWE Legends could re-emerge to take part in the event.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is usually a guest at the Showcase of the Immortals. Who else would be a better target of Wilson’s accusation than the Texas Rattlesnake? It would get Wilson on the card and do wonders to interact with a Legend like Austin.
#3. A former WWE Star returns
The Hardyz returned to WWE in 2017 at WrestleMania 33, hosted by the New Day. Cody Rhodes did the same in 2022 as Seth Rollins‘ mystery opponent.
With a few big names currently free agents or attached to brands on good terms with WWE, a former champion could shock the world by popping up in Las Vegas.
Both Paige and Chris Jericho are free agents. The Hardyz are currently TNA Tag Team Champions but are working without contracts. They’ll face the System at Sacrifice on March 27.
That’s several weeks before the Show of Shows. Expect Matt and Jeff, or Jericho, to grace the stage in Las Vegas.
#2. Tom Brady is involved in a segment with Logan Paul and Rob Gronkowski
With a recent conversation between Logan Paul and legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady, things could be setting up for an appearance by the GOAT.
The former Patriots quarterback is a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Las Vegas hosts the two-night event for the second straight year.
WWE was also working on merchandising for Brady. Several NFL stars, including George Kittle, Cam Skattebo, and Rob Gronkowski, have been featured over the last few years. Gronk could flank Brady in a potential appearance.
#1. Randy Orton turns heel after failing to win a 15th title
Something’s been lacking from Randy Orton for the last few years. A portion of fans will love him no matter what side of the coin he falls on. But to be a truly effective and engaging character, The Viper needs to be a heel.
His unpredictability is what used to set him apart. Now, it seems like every one of his matches and promos is the same. If Orton fails to win the Undisputed WWE title, either from Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre, he could finally snap.
Turning on Cody would make the most sense since officials don’t want to turn The American Nightmare into a bad guy. It would also be a huge talking point to cap off either night of the show.
