Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton is one of the happiest people right now after five-time Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby’s trade. The Las Vegas Raiders traded him to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks.
Thus, Crosby will now go from competing against Payton and the Broncos in the AFC West to playing in the AFC North. According to a tweet by FOX NFL’s Jay Glazer on Saturday, the coach would not contain his excitement about not having to face the pass rusher in the division this year.
Thanks for the submission!
“Sean Payton called me soooo fired up the Raiders traded Maxx Crosby and even just texted Maxx saying he’s offering him to pay a private plane one-way flight to Baltimore, happy to see him out of the division. Funny.

“But also added, ‘You are an inspiration to watch and compete against.’ Payton has long raveed about how Maxx never slows down during games.”

Fans on social media shared thoughts on Payton’s reaction to Crosby’s trade.
“Payton on them pills again,” one fan commented.
“Sean has to be the weirdest coach in the league,” another fan said.
“Payton alreaedy booking that one-way ticket himself. Broncos fans living their best life right now,” this fan wrote.
“Payton should be more worried about Mendoza shredding their defense once we start clicking,” another fan said.
“Great to see the respect Payton has for Maxx Crosby. Even after the trade, it’s cleat he values his talent and work ethic,” one fan wrote.
“Would rather face him twice a year on a last place team than hav to face him in a playoff game with your season on the line,” this fan commented.
Crosby has been the face of the Raiders over the past few years. Last March, he had agreed to a three-year extension worth $106.5 million. However, they finished the 2025 season with a disappointing 3-14 record. The defensive end recorded 73 total tackles and 10 sacks in 15 games.

Maxx Crosby opens up about his goal as part of the Baltimore Ravens
On Saturday’s episode of his podcast called ‘The Rush,” Maxx Crosby discussed his trade to the Ravens.
He also highlighted the goal he has in mind, playing for a new team heading into 2026.
“I’m going there with one purpose, and that’s to help the team get to where it needs to be, and where everybody wants to go,” Crosby said. “And that’s winning the Super Bowl. And I know it’s going to be very difficult. I know there’s no guarantees in this, but I’m gonna give everything in my heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore.”
Last season, the Ravens failed to qualify for the playoffs. They finished second in the AFC North with an 8-9 record. The team decided to part ways with John Harbaugh after 18 years and named Jesse Minter as his replacement.
