Last updated in 2024, the new 2026 Cervelo Caledonia road bike is lighter and more capable, with a few spec refinements that should please everyone.
The frame looks similar to prior generations, with a lightly sloping top tube and dropped seatstays to improve comfort. But now that’s enhanced with better handling for the larger 36mm tire clearance introduced on the prior iteration.
Likely because most “racers” won’t go quite that big, they’ve updated the fork’s trail figures, optimizing for 32mm tires. That should give the bike solid handling whether you go a bit smaller or max out the tire width.
Or, keep them at 34mm and it’ll fit fenders on the integrated mounts.
Up front, they’ve reverted (slightly) from fully integrated stealth routing to their hybrid setup, letting you go full internal (ST31/32 or HB18 parts) or a semi-internal setup for easier maintenance.
Lower, the switch to a T47 threaded BB will also make maintenance easier, as well as figuring out which cranks to upgrade with compared to the prior BBright standard.
And, without explaining how or why, they say they’ve dropped 53g from the bike. Presumably that’s in the frame and fork.
Otherwise, the bike maintains the mildly aero shaping, internal downtube storage, and broadly appealing all-purpose race-to-fondo geometry that’s made it a popular bike in their lineup.
They’ve even simplified the model name from “Caledonia-5” to just “Caledonia”, now. We approve.
