Großschartner coming to the line in third down on Hatherly by eight seconds. The second half by Hatherly was absolutely rapid.

Austrian national champion, Felix Großschartner (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), has flown out of the blocks and goes fastest at the split by two tenths of a second over teammate, Del Toro. But, Del Toro was beaten by Hatherly who sits sex seconds down at the split.
Colombian champion, Brandon Rivera (Ineos Grenadiers), was just four second down at the split, now he comes to the finish and he is 23 seconds down. He lost 25 seconds in the second half of the stage to Hatherly.
After the finish, Welsford said in a TV interview: “Must have got a little bit too excited in the first half, felt food but gelt in the last 3km but I’m happy with the shape, wind is interesting like a cross head, probably the sprinter in me to go for the first intermediate.

Buitrago finishes 20 seconds down on Hatherly. He was on the same time as the South African at the split.
Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious) is down at the split by six seconds on Del Toro at the split but is on the same time as Hatherly at that point.
Del Toro misses out on the fastest time by six seconds on Hatherly. The Mexican lost 12 seconds in the second half of that ride to Hatherly.
Isaac Del Toro goes fastest at the split, he leads by four seconds over Welsford but six seconds ahead of leader at the finish, Hatherly.
Welsford goes third fastest with a terrific ride by the Australian sprinter with him 10 seconds down on Hatherly.
Jan Christen spoke to TV crews after his ride… “The TT wasn’t the best for me but I managed well considering I haven’t trained on the TT as I am not doing GC here, so I am happy with my time. It is super nice, I hope Isaac does similar or even better so we have a strong GC position. We are here with a strong team so we hope to win the GC.”

Bax slots into third at just 19 seconds down on Hatherly.
Sam Welsford (Ineos Grenadiers) out on course, he’ll be hoping to have some good opportunities in the sprints this week.
Sjoerd Bax (Pinarello-Q36.5) with a surprisingly strong ride at the split, he’s just four seconds off Hatherly’s time.
Jan Christen crosses the line and misses the time by South African, Hatherly, by just nine seconds.

Wout Van Aert spoke to TNT Sports after he finished saying “the feeling was good, I came in without expectations for the TT, I pushed a little bit for a warm up for the rest of the race. I hope to be there to battle for a stage win so we shall have a few stages to try and go for it.”
Not many people have managed to challenge the top names. Michael Valgren (EF Education-EasyPost) slotted into sixth at 38 seconds on Hatherly.
One of the big in form riders in world cycling at the moment, Tobias Lund Andresen (Decathlon-CMA CGM), has set off on his ride.
Gianni Moscon (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and Arnaud De Lie (Lotto-Intermarche) are both out on course at the moment.
Connor Swift (Ineos Grenadiers) finished well and slotted himself into third after being down in sixth at the split.
Van Aert recovered well with a negative split but it wasn’t enough. He finishes three seconds down on new leader, Bilbao.
Alan Hatherly (Jayco-AlUla) goes two seconds faster than Tratnik at the split. The South African mountain bike star is flying.
Tratnik goes fastest at the split by just two seconds over Johannessen with Van Eetvelt losing 14 seconds at halfway.
Van Eetvelt and Tratnik have both set off on their rides.
Van Aert has not started well at all with the Visma-Lease a Bike man already down by 10 seconds on Johannessen at the halfway point.
Bilbao just misses out on besting Johannessen by two seconds at the intermediate time check.
Another possible GC rider in the race is Norwegian Uno-X Mobility rider, Tobias Johannessen, who started very early and leads at the split after five riders with an advantage of eight seconds over Verstrynge.
Van Aert sets off on his ride. One of the early big name favourites. But, how is the Belgian’s form after illness, injuries and various other set backs?
Some early riders to watch for are Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) who is setting off now, he is immediately followed by Wout Van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) then a few minutes later Jan Tretnik (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and Lennert Van Eetvelt (Lotto-Intermarche) start their race.
Verstrynge sets off and the racing at Tirreno-Adriatico 2026 begins!

The race opens with the usual individual time trial around Lido di Camaiore just 11.5km of racing on this pan flat course. Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) will be hoping he can add to his earlier TT win at the Volta ao Algarve earlier in the year.
