No deal: Ravens back out of Maxx Crosby trade agreement

The Baltimore Ravens‘ search for pass-rushing help will continue. Just days after reportedly agreeing to a trade for Las Vegas Raiders superstar edge-rusher Maxx Crosby, the Ravens backed out of the agreement on Tuesday, just hours before the official start of the new league year that would have made the deal official.

The reason: Crosby reportedly did not pass his physical on Tuesday.

Ravens back out of Maxx Crosby trade agreement

There was always going to be concern with Crosby’s health given that he is 29 years old and played through a meniscus injury for most of the 2025 season.

The Raiders used that injury as a reason to sit him down for the final two games of the regular season.

While that was almost certainly a concern, it is still a stunning development to see what would have been the biggest trade of the NFL offseason fall apart just days later.

The Athletic’s Diana Russini reported on Tuesday that Crosby did not pass his physical.
