Rangers are now ready to sell one of Danny Rohl‘s mainstays for instant profit this summer, with scouts from West Ham United spotted watching on.
“Fantastic” Rangers have title belief, says Rohl
There are plenty more twists to come in the Scottish Premiership this season. Whilst Hearts still sit top of the league and on course for a shock title win, their 1-0 defeat against Kilmarnock has left the door ajar for both Rangers and Celtic to close in.
Now, with only a handful of games left to play, Rangers sit three points behind the leaders and Celtic sit just two points behind. It’s almost as close as it could be as Scotland’s top tier heads towards a dramatic title showdown to conclude the campaign.
Fewer touches than Butland: Rangers flop must not start again this season
This Rangers flop must not start again this season after his performance against St Mirren.
As Hearts blinked, Rohl’s side remained resolute against St. Mirren to secure a 1-0 victory and leave their manager smiling at the league table.
“Yeah, I would be lying if I said I was not smiling after this (Hearts result), this is normal”, Rohl said. “But I know we have to deliver again next week.
“And it now goes a little bit up and down, the team who is consistent until the end and take the right results, will win this league. We are happy today. I think after three good performances without the right result, we took the result and this is the most important thing.
“When you go in the cup finals, it’s about winning games and today we won the first cup final. I felt this morning when we met each other, there was so much energy in the dressing room. It was fantastic.
“There’s so much belief in our group, there’s no doubt that we can achieve something this season, but you have to take the results and today we did. I think the table now looks better than before this matchday and this is great.”
It’s not all good news for the Gers, though. As their push towards potential title glory continues, West Ham are seemingly eyeing a move to sign one of their most important stars.
West Ham send scouts to watch Fernandez
As reported by Alan Nixon on his Patreon, West Ham have made in-person checks on Emmanuel Fernandez and Rangers are ready to cash in at the right price this summer.
It’s a major blow for Rohl, who has got the best out of the defender ever since replacing Russell Martin. The 24-year-old initially came under fire at the start of his Rangers career, but soon became a mainstay under his current manager – playing a crucial role.
It’s, therefore, easy to see why West Ham have sent scouts to watch Fernandez. Although their defensive performance was impressive against Manchester City at the weekend, there’s no doubt that they could do with the upgrade that the Rangers man would provide.
Just what that ‘right price’ is for Rangers remains the big question. Given that they signed Fernandez for around £3m, they’ll likely be looking for major profit this summer.
