Current WWE champion attacked and dragged under the stage at recent show

The recent episode of WWE NXT ended in a shocking way. This was NXT’s sold-out show in Houston’s 713 Music Hall. A title match inside the Steel Cage headlined the show, but the very end saw Blake Monroe coming out on top.

The main event was Tatum Paxley defending her title against Izzi Dame. The match for the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship was taken inside the Steel Cage, considering their growing rivalry. However, only Paxley retained her title and was about to close the show when Monroe pulled her down.

Tatum was celebrating her win and walking out through the ramp, and at that point stood there to pose. That’s when Blake Monroe appeared from underneath the stage, grabbing Paxley’s leg and pulling her down. Blake, who had everything to do with the championship, raised the title to end the show.

Paxley winning the title in the first place is a long-term effect of Monroe losing it unplanned. Blake lost the title three months ago on NXT. In kayfabe, it still came out seamless, but according to the real plans, The Glamour was supposed to win the match and still reign supreme as the champ. Since then, Blake was away from the title, and now, as Stand & Deliver approaches, she would get back at the glory.

Three WWE NXT Women’s North American Champions were crowned after Blake Monroe

Blake Monroe lost the Women’s North American Championship unintentionally. It was her fault in that she didn’t kick out after the second count and led Thea Hail to take the win. The decision was not reversed anyway later, and instead NXT went with the experimental route.

In the next three-month period, though, even Hail lost the title to Izzi Dame. Later at WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Tatum Paxley won it off her. Now Monroe is getting back to her championship, which she lost in the first place but didn’t need to.
