The latest report provided more details regarding the AEW status of Ricochet after the recent controversy and apology. The former WWE Superstar has been facing a lot of backlash regarding his despicable comment.
Ricochet recently landed himself in a massive controversy during one of his social media interactions with a fan. Responding to the fan’s criticism, Rico disgracefully used the person’s MS (Multiple Sclerosis) disease against them. The former AEW National Champion has been facing a lot of backlash regarding his controversial comment.
Ricochet also issued an apology through an X social media post recently. Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio provided details regarding Rico’s apology for his comments. Meltzer noted that he apologized after one of his friends insisted on it:
“And then what ended up happening was, one of his friends called him and said, ‘You know, you really should take the tweet down.’ And upon thinking about it, he then apologized. Nobody forced his apology or anything like that. He decided to apologize, and he did.”
Meltzer further noted that he hasn’t heard anything about the Ricochet situation from the AEW side:
“As far as where it stands elsewhere, as far as I know he has gotten no — I’ve heard nothing from AEW or anything like that as far as what happened.” [H/T WOR]
WWE veteran slammed Tony Khan for not calling out AEW’s Ricochet
The former WWE writer Vince Russo recently blasted Tony Khan for not intervening after Ricochet made the despicable MS comment. Speaking on the Coach & Bro Show, Russo stated the following:
“This guy’s [Tony Khan] dad was one of the all-time business minds of all time. How are you not looking at these things? As you said, we had that incident with all that violence at the PLE. On top of that, Ricochet makes this comment, and you don’t jump in there? Man, these are just, in my opinion, really, really bad business decisions.”
It remains to be seen if Tony Khan will comment on the Ricochet controversy.
