Ronald Acuna Jr.’s wife Maria got emotional after Venezuela’s World Baseball Classic win
Venezuela’s 2026 World Baseball Classic campaign was successful, defeating Team USA 3-2 in the final on March 17. Cincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez broke the tie in the ninth inning.
Ronald Acuna Jr. was also part of the team, and after Venezuela’s win, his wife, Maria, became emotional. She uploaded a series of Instagram stories to celebrate Venezuela’s victory. She wrote “Grande Venezuela” and “I really want to cry” in the first two stories. Laborde expressed how proud she was of the team in the third story.
“VENEZUELA WE LOVE YOU. WHAT A TEAM AND WHAT AMAZING FANS 😭❤️❤️❤️,” Laborde wrote.
Acuna was also emotional, calling the WBC victory the “number one” win of his career. He added that he hoped his fans were proud of him since he couldn’t play in the Braves’ 2021 World Series win due to an injury. He also stressed that while he loves Atlanta a lot, “Venezuela made Ronald Acuna Jr.”
