Recently, one-half of Fuwamoco, Fuwawa Abyssgard, announced that she will go on a hiatus for a major surgery. The announcement was made during one of their YouTube livestreams on March 20, 2026. The Hololive VTuber revealed that she will be on a month-long hiatus due to the “major surgery”; however, there were no life-threatening concerns to speak of.
On March 27, 2026, the official Fuwamoco account gave fans an update revealing that Fuwawa is out of surgery. Here’s more.
Fuwamoco surgery update: Fuwawa’s surgery concludes
On March 20, 2026, the Fuwamoco star Fuwawa announced that she’ll be undergoing a major surgery at a hospital around the end of March 2026. Unfortunately for curious fans, the VTuber duo did not announce a solid reason for or cause of said surgical procedure.
They also did not reveal the very nature of Fuwawa’s surgery, thereby keeping the entire situation around the procedure private. That being said, the latest update on the surgery was provided by the pair’s X page, where they announced:
“My surgery was smooth + successful and I’m doing my all to heal up in hospital as soon as I can! I’m still not used to hospital life at all, but I’m working hard every day to recover quickly and get back to normal!”
Since the major surgery was announced to have non-life-threatening consequences, fans have no reason to worry about Fuwawa’s health or Fuwamoco’s future.
In the March 20, 2026, livestream, the VTuber even revealed that once she gets done with this procedure, she won’t have to worry about it any longer. It was also highlighted that the surgery didn’t have anything to do with her voice.
However, due to the seriousness of the major surgery, Fuwawa will have to remain in the hospital for a one-month duration. Visitation will also be limited, meaning her fellow VTuber Mococo may not be able to see her frequently either. The VTuber will have to get used to the hospital life for some time, even if it takes some getting used to.
Until Fuwawa recovers, the Fuwamoco Hololive channel will be run by Mococo alone as a solo streamer.
