“I want to be the future of this league,” Davis said post-game.
Davis was named match MVP after a standout performance, finishing with 34 points, 15 assists and no turnovers, shooting 11-of-19 from the field (57%). The 15 assists are both a career-high and a new NBL Finals record.
It was a composed, controlled display that shut down the Game Two noise and underlined his influence on this series.
After his Game Two heroics, Bryce Cotton was kept in check. The Kings’ defensive pressure forced the ball out of his hands, shifting him into more of a playmaking role. He was held under 10 points for most of the night before adding late scores in the fourth, finishing with 15 points and 12 assists.
Zylan Cheatham added 17 points, while John Jenkins continued his strong run with 22 points off the bench.
Game Four will be played on Wednesday, April 1 at 7:30pm AEDT at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, with the 36ers facing a must-win situation.
