In a battle between two teams fighting to secure a playoff spot, the Pittsburgh Penguins dominated the New York Islanders to the tune of 8-3 on Monday night.
The Penguins also managed to score all eight goals — their highest output of the season — without any from the returning Sidney Crosby, who missed Saturday’s 6-3 loss to the Dallas Stars. But even without scoring, Crosby still contributed and helped generate offense, recording two assists in the game.
And Crosby’s pair of helpers helped him make more NHL history, moving up another all-time list. Crosby is now in sole possession of third for the most multi-point games in league history with 514.
Sidney Crosby is now high up on another all-time list
Crosby has now moved past Marcel Dionne after tying the Hockey Hall of Famer earlier in the month on March 18. He has registered 21 multi-point games out of his 62 games played throughout the 2025-26 season alone.
