Video: Teewing Teases New Avinox-Powered Flux eMTB with UK Ripper Josh Gleeve

Recently, several brands have announced new eMTB models but have been keeping the details of their drive systems a secret. From Atherton’s first eMTB to the soon-to-be-launched Mondraker ZENDIT — and surely several others — these Avinox-powered bikes are hinting at something new coming in the motor department. Now, Teewing is joining in on the Avinox teases while trying to build a little excitement for its soon-to-launch Flux eMTB.

Check out this video, shot by Tom Caldwell and featuring UK shredder Josh Gleeve riding the new bike, to see what it’s capable of. Looks like it goes pretty good, or maybe Josh Gleeve is just a talented rider. Probably both.

    What’s a Teewing?

If you haven’t heard of Teewing Bikes before, that’s because it is an up-and-coming eMTB brand, with just one model so far. The Turbo Force was introduced last year, and is a trail-oriented bike with 150/160mm of travel and the Avinox M1 drive system. The new Flux eMTB will double its product lineup, with a longer-travel, high-pivot design for hard-hitting riding that appears to be a heck of a lot of fun.

We don’t know all the details yet, but we’re told the Flux has 178mm of high-pivot rear travel, a 180mm fork, and can be run as a mixed-wheel setup or a full 29er. Based on the speeds and terrain that Josh Gleeve is riding in the video, it’s fair to assume that it has a geometry catering toward aggressive riding, too.

We also know that it’s Avinox-powered, but like the Mondraker ZENDIT, we don’t have the rest of the details on that just yet, but we should know more soon. In the meantime, here’s what the rider from the video, Josh Gleeve, had to say about the new Teewing Flux.

“First thing I noticed was how sleek the Teewing looks, the logo’s clean, and the whole bike has a proper stealth feel. The high-pivot mullet setup worked really well for cornering, and the rear end just tracks the ground properly. It feels planted, especially when things get rough. On steep, rough terrain, it’s super forgiving. Honestly, it rides more like a downhill bike than you’d expect from an eMTB, which was pretty wild. Climbing-wise, no one’s getting past you with that boost mode. There’s loads of power. The battery life was solid as well, just kept going all day without any stress about running out. The riding position felt comfortable straight away, and the geometry just works. Overall, it’s a bike you can properly beat on; it takes it all in stride.”

We’ll be getting the rest of the details on the new Teewing Flux and several other new eMTBs in the next week or so, and we’ll share them when we do.
