GT vs RR Match Prediction: Who will win today’s IPL 2026 match?

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be looking to harness the momentum of their winning start as they face off against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This will be Match 9 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on a double-header Saturday.

The Royals beat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) quite comprehensively in Guwahati to secure two points. The Titans, meanwhile, fell to a disappointing defeat to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their opening match, where they struggled despite a solid individual performance from Prasidh Krishna.

Gujarat have enjoyed playing in home conditions, with their roster tailored to exploit the conditions. Despite coming into the season as one of the underdogs, they could ask some serious questions of the inaugural IPL champions.

Can RR make it two out of two? Or will GT find their footing for the first time in the tournament?

GT’s squad for IPL 2026: Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Rahul Tewatia, Washington Sundar, Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, Glenn Phillips, Jason Holder, Jayant Yadav, R Sai Kishore, Nishant Sindhu, Arshad Khan, Anuj Rawat (wk), Kumar Kushagra (wk), Tom Banton, Ishant Sharma, Kulwant Khejroliya, Luke Wood, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Manav Suthar, Ashok Sharma.

The pitch in Ahmedabad has been a run-scoring paradise lately, with the average first-innings score being above 200 last season. GT will need to adapt quickly, since their middle order doesn’t boast much firepower.

If the Titans hope to turn things around, they’ll have to find a way to be more aggressive in their approach through the middle overs. Whether they have the personnel to do that is another question altogether.

The battle between Jofra Archer and Shubman Gill will be one to watch out for. Beating GT comes down to dismissing Gill and Sai Sudharsan early on, so if the RR spearhead can take a couple of wickets in the powerplay, the match might be sealed. With Jos Buttler looking out of touch, Rajasthan will fancy their chances of restricting the hosts to a below-par score.

Meanwhile, if Vaibhav Sooryavanshi can continue his explosive form, RR might just have the firepower to dominate the powerplay and set a strong foundation. The young opener blasted a century against the Titans last time around and seems to be in great nick, having commenced his campaign with a blistering half-century.

While GT might come into this match with a point to prove and boast a strong bowling unit, the Royals’ batting firepower could tilt the scales in their favor. RR seem to have a few more bases covered and should get the job done, unless the Gujarat top three do something special at one of their favorite venues.

Prediction: RR to win Match 9 of IPL 2026.
