Man Utd now discussing deal to sign int’l attacker who’s been compared to De Bruyne

Manchester United are now holding internal discussions over signing Christian Pulisic this summer, as he enters the final 12 months of his AC Milan.

    Man Utd discussing Pulisic move

It’s a big summer for the Red Devils. The first item on their list of priorities is finding a permanent manager. Whilst Michael Carrick has done more than an admirable job as interim boss, names such as Andoni Iraola are still threatening to steal the headlines – handing INEOS a key decision to make.

The second item on their list will be to find reinforcements, picking up where they left off in an excellent summer transfer window last time out by welcoming an attacking addition. Last time it was Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo, but a year later it could be Pulisic.

The Red Devils are plotting their move…

According to TeamTalk, Man United are now discussing a deal to sign Pulisic internally and he’s already got a big fan in the form of Christopher Vivell. Add in the fact that his current deal at AC Milan expires in 12 months and a deal certainly looks viable.

The American international has been involved in 13 goals in all competitions so far this season, scoring 10 and assisting another three. It follows an excellent campaign last time out, in which he was involved in 29 goals – highlighting how he’s reached the peak of his powers.

De Bruyne-like Pulisic could complete Man Utd’s attack

Whilst it’s easy to assume that Man United’s attacking rebuild is complete, the likely addition of Champions League football next season means that they could do with all the depth they can get. That’s why a move for Pulisic could be key.

The American certainly has a lot to prove in the Premier League, too, having failed to set the world alight during his time at Chelsea. But, as so many have proved in the past, failing at Chelsea doesn’t necessarily mean failure elsewhere.

    Christian Pulisic

It’s something that former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard touched on when comparing De Bruyne to Pulisic ahead of a potential summer return to England.

“I’m going to put him in a very high class here… Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, we now know the finished products. When I say those names, people are going to go, ‘Huh? Those are two of the greatest players in Premier League history’, but I remember Kevin De Bruyne at Chelsea, I remember Mohamed Salah at Chelsea.”

Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli was also quick to praise the winger during his time at the club, dubbing him “intelligent”. If that, plus Howard’s verdict, is anything to go by then Man United should make their move.
