Ipswich Town have come storming into the race to sign Enzo Boyomo from Osasuna this summer, as they look to welcome their first signing ahead of a Premier League return.
Ipswich complete scouting mission on Boyomo
The Tractor Boys are wasting no time before turning their attention towards the transfer market. They’ll be more aware than most just how tough it is to stay in the Premier League and they’ll need to do things differently in their second attempt in three years.
With that said, Kieran McKenna could see a number of stars arrive at Portman Road this summer. Names such as Zan Vipotnik are already reportedly on their radar, but it’s not just attacking reinforcements that the Suffolk side are targeting.
According to reports in Spain, relayed by Sport Witness, Ipswich have burst into the race to sign Boyomo after completing an in-person scouting mission on the Osasuna defender.
The 24-year-old centre-back has found himself on the radar of a number of English sides, but Ipswich will be hoping to lure him to Portman Road this summer.

It’s easy to see why there’s interest in Boyomo. He’s helped Osasuna keep hold of their top-half place in La Liga and produced some impressive numbers along the way.
Next to Dara O’Shea, he would also thrive for Ipswich. Whilst the Portman Road star has enjoyed a fantastic season, he still has weaknesses that Boyomo would help cover out of possession.

It could all come down to how much Ipswich are willing to spend this summer. The centre-back has a release clause worth €25m (£22m), which means that the Tractor Boys can skip any extensive negotiations if they decide to splash the cash.
It wasn’t always routine, but Ipswich turned on the style at the perfect time to secure automatic promotion on the final day of the Championship campaign. It’s the second time in three seasons that McKenna has secured such an achievement and he was quick to praise his side last weekend.
“It’s hard to enjoy, to be honest. You just really want it for everyone else, the lads who haven’t had it in the group and for the supporters and your family, it means so much.
“It’s not been easy for that group of players but they’ve really stuck at it and you can’t ever understand how hard it is to get into the Premier League. It’s a great achievement.”
The challenge is now staying up. Sunderland and Leeds United have already left a blueprint on how to avoid the drop at the first time of asking this season. It’s up to Ipswich to follow it or suffer the same fate as Burnley in the next campaign.
