As F1 enters the summer break, Max Verstappen’s future at Red Bull remains uncertain. The driver can leave this year if he opts to activate his release clause, but has not yet confirmed to his team whether he intends to do so. Speaking after the Hungarian GP, Max Verstappen outlined what he thinks should be Red Bull’s priority going into the summer break. The driver said that the outfit needs to focus on “overall performance” as well as bring more consistency in the second half of the 2026 F1 season.

Speaking about what Red Bull needs to focus on during the summer break, Verstappen told the media:

“We need to first find more overall performance. Then we need to fix our problems, where we sometimes just lose performance over a weekend, or even from the start of the race to the end. So, yeah, that is also actually a big priority.”

Speaking to the media after the Hungarian GP, Verstappen also joked that he would like some ADUO concessions as all of Red Bull’s rivals have received them this year after the new RBPT-Ford engine was adjudged to be the benchmark by the FIA.
