Brad Keselowski may not race in the NASCAR Cup Series next season

As if the shocking story of Brad Keselowski leaving RFK Racing as both a driver and owner after the 2026 NASCAR season needed another layer, there’s a chance the 2012 Cup Series champion isn’t even racing in NASCAR’s top division next year.

According to Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, Keselowski likely won’t race full-time in the Cup Series next season. Few avenues exist for the future Hall of Famer to land a Cup opportunity for 2027, though NASCAR free agency has certainly taken wilder turns before.

“I don’t anticipate a move where Brad Keselowski is going to end up in the Cup Series next year,” Bianchi said. “What I do know though, is that there are conversations underway where Brad could have a full-time ride in a different NASCAR series. I’ve heard his name linked to a Truck Series opportunity potentially. Now whether Brad wants to do that or not, we’ll see.

“[It] may be that Brad doesn’t want to go run the Truck Series. Dipping down into the Truck Series for a year, maybe that will be a great placeholder for him.”
