  • Aaron Rodgers may have already made a decision about his future: Is he retiring after the latest moves?

Aaron Rodgers may have already made a decision about his future: Is he retiring after the latest moves?

The ongoing Aaron Rodgers saga has taken yet another twist. The four-time NFL MVP, who many expected to announce his new team by now, has instead left fans and analysts puzzled by his indecision.

And according to insider Adam Schefter, the possibility of retirement is looming larger than ever.

Awful play! Aaron Rodgers’ last pass with Davante Adams

In a recent segment, Schefter admitted the uncertainty surrounding Rodgers‘ future is partly because the quarterback himself might not know if he wants to play.

“Until I hear him, ‘I want to play,’ then I can tell you people are asking that question about whether or not he wants to play,” said Schefter. “It’s come up. I’m hearing he might not want to play. Which by the way, again, I don’t want to speak for him because I don’t want to get called out. We’re speculating, but it shouldn’t be that hard. Either you want to play for the Steelers or you don’t. What are we waiting for?”

Fans Losing Patience as Rodgers Stays Silent

The NFL community is growing frustrated with the prolonged decision-making process. Social media is filled with comments urging Rodgers to retire if he cannot make up his mind.

“He should be considering retiring,” one fan commented, while another bluntly added, “Retire already. You’re done.”

Many believe Rodgers‘ hesitation is less about finding the right fit and more about his love of attention. As one user put it, “Dude just feeds off of attention. My god.”

Rodgers has held discussions with various NFL teams this offseason, but the search for his next landing spot is looking increasingly bleak. The New York Giants, once thought to be a serious contender, have pivoted towards pursuing Russell Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings, another rumored suitor, appear content to move forward with promising young quarterback JJ McCarthy.

Vikings General Manager Kewsi Adofo-Mensah addressed the situation, saying, “At every checkpoint, whether it been the draft process or practice until the injury and really the offseason now, he’s met the bar. He’s exceeded our expectations at every point. So I don’t have the ability to tell you what the future is, but I can tell you what I expect to be the outcome this offseason from the competition.”

Adofo-Mensah added, “It’s also our job to set up a quarterback room that’s going to have to… provide insurance in case somebody needs to come in for a couple of games. And that’s our job as a personnel department to look at all the options out there and make sure we’re setting ourselves up for the best case we can.”

Has Rodgers Played His Last Game?

As things stand, the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be Rodgers‘ last viable option for continuing his NFL career. But if his motivation isn’t there, as some suspect, the quarterback could be leaning towards calling it quits.

The situation remains unclear, but fans and analysts alike are beginning to suspect that Aaron Rodgers may be closer to retirement than anyone initially thought.

With his most promising talks falling through, will Rodgers finally put an end to the drama and walk away from the game for good?

Levy open to selling £60m Tottenham star as Real Madrid discuss signing him

Tottenham Hotspur and chairman Daniel Levy are believed to be changing their minds about selling a star player this summer, with La Liga giants Real Madrid also holding internal talks over a potential deal for him.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, if he is indeed still in the job by next season, will likely have to contend with elite clubs attempting to poach his key squad members this summer.

52-year-old holds talks with Levy to join Tottenham as “rich offer” readied

The Lilywhites chairman personally met with him yesterday.

The Lilywhites, according to TEAMtalk, are mindful of AC Milan and Atlético Madrid’s serious interest in midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur as one example. Both European heavyweights are apparently considering a swoop for the Uruguay international this summer, and Spurs are set to open formal new contract talks with Bentancur as they look to stave them off.

The £75,000-per-week ace’s contract expires in 2026, meaning time is running out for Tottenham to tie him down with fresh terms, and if they can’t, then a sale this summer could be a real possibility.

    bentancur-spurs-europa-league

Meanwhile, there have even been suggestions that Bayern Munich are weighing up a surprise move for Son Heung-min this summer. Tottenham recently triggered the one-year extension clause in his contract, meaning he won’t be leaving until next year, but Bayern could apparently try and tempt Levy into an early transfer.

A lot of speculation has also surrounded star centre-back Cristian Romero and his long-term future at N17, with Atlético also said to be expressing an interest in the Argentine World Cup-winner alongside Bentancur.

Romero is apparently prepared to leave Tottenham this summer as well, following the club’s dismal 2024/2025, but Atlético are not the player’s only temptation.

Tottenham stance on selling Cristian Romero as Real Madrid eye move

According to GiveMeSport, Diego Simeone’s arch rivals Real are also eyeing up a move for the South American. The Galacticos are widely rumoured to be on the hunt for a big-name central defender this summer, and Romero is on their list of star-studded targets.

    cristian-romero-spurs

The outlet reports that Tottenham are now tempted to sell Romero, following a significant U-turn behind-the-scenes, and Real have held internal talks over a swoop for the 26-year-old.

While the club have relaxed their stance over an exit deal for him, Spurs have most recently demanded £60 million to let go of Romero, and Atlético in particular are set to fall short as things stand.

Simeone’s side want to open talks over a transfer worth £33 million, but this is set to fall short of Levy’s demands. While Real haven’t yet made contact with Tottenham or Romero’s camp, there is a distinct possibility they could do, if they decide he is indeed the right man to bolster their backline.

Jamie Carragher reveals Trent Alexander-Arnold feelings amid Liverpool fan backlash

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted his disappointment towards Trent Alexander-Arnold as the right-back inches closer to a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Madrid have been chasing Alexander-Arnold for over a year and there has long been an awareness that he could depart for the La Liga giants this summer, but that ramped up to a new level during the international break with the revelation that he had formally agreed a contract.

It means Alexander-Arnold, who came up through the Liverpool academy, is on the cusp of leaving his boyhood side for nothing – a fact which has sparked significant frustration among the Liverpool fanbase.

“Where I’m at is that as a local player and a Liverpool fan, Liverpool are in a position where they’re competing for the league and a European Cup every year,” Carragher told the Stick to Football podcast as he sought to explain the response from supporters.

“So, if you’re a Liverpool fan and a local player… I’m just disappointed that he doesn’t think that this is it.

“I’m putting myself in his position where I’d be thinking that we could go level with Manchester United in league trophies, I’ve got another seven or eight years at Liverpool and want to get three or four ahead of them, with a couple more European Cups.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold

    Alexander-Arnold risks angering fans / Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/GettyImages

“It seems like there’s not one thing people are unhappy with – it’s leaving on a free or that he should have come out and told the club earlier – people are angry for three or four different things. I’m not angry about him going on a free. In an ideal world, Liverpool would get £70m or £80m for him to reinvest, but you can’t have it both ways as a supporter. If Liverpool sign someone on a free in the summer, we’d all be delighted, so does that mean that his former club should absolutely hate him?

“Also, when you’re a local player you don’t cost anything – Trent going on a free is like Virgil van Dijk leaving for £75m, we’d still break even.”

Despite attempting to understand the motives behind Alexander-Arnold’s decision, Carragher questioned whether the right-back’s desire to leave a legacy on football – he recently admitted winning the Ballon d’Or is a greater goal than becoming Liverpool captain – was behind the decision.

“I think Trent is a player who looks at himself almost like a brand, and that’s not just him, a lot of players do now,” Carragher continued.

“I go back to an interview he gave on Sky Sports before Christmas, where he was given five options on which he’d pick as the most important for you – captain of Liverpool, win the Champions League with Liverpool, win the World Cup with England or win the Ballon d’Or – and he chose the Ballon d’Or.

“He wanted to be the first full-back that won the Ballon d’Or, and there’s nothing wrong with having ambition, but that didn’t go down particularly well with Liverpool supporters.”

  • Better than Kerkez: Liverpool join the race for “world-class” £50m LB

Better than Kerkez: Liverpool join the race for “world-class” £50m LB

Liverpool are expected to enter the summer transfer window with attacking intent, bolstering Arne Slot‘s talented squad with high-quality additions across the park.

While fans eagerly await news of forwards to strengthen a somewhat lopsided frontline, the realm of full-back is sure to receive focused attention too. And interestingly, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, it’s left-back that will receive the biggest facelift in spite of Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s expected move to Real Madrid.

Milos Kerkez is the name on everyone’s lips, but Liverpool aren’t a team to place all their eggs in one basket, and may well have found the perfect alternative.

    Liverpool transfer news

Kerkez, 21, is expected to leave Bournemouth this summer, with reputable sources like Fabrizio Romano suggesting Liverpool are among the favourites to complete a deal.

However, Kerkez isn’t the only exciting talent on the market. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso.

Riddled with monetary issues, Juventus are ready to hold a fire sale as they try to avoid financial sanctions and Cambiaso is among those listed.

    Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso

A top player, the Old Lady will field enquiries worth €60m (£50m), with Manchester City and Bayern Munich also interested.

Kerkez, meanwhile, is understood hold a lesser value, around £40m.

Why Andrea Cambiaso may be better than Kerkez

Cambiaso has completed 74 matches, notching 14 goal involvements, for Juventus since joining from Serie A rivals Genoa in 2022.

Atalanta's Berat Djimsiti and Marco Brescianini in action with Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso

Physically gifted and endowed with the pace and potency down the flank to serve strongly as an all-encompassing wide defender, Cambiaso may well be a better, more refined pick for Slot’s Liverpool than Kerkez.

No disrespect to the Hungarian, who would mark an upgrade on both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, but Juventus simply have one of the best in the business, who has shone despite his side’s struggles this year under the recently dismissed Thiago Motta.

In fairness, there’s not the greatest deal of statistical difference between the two players, but deeper diving reveals Cambiaso to be among the most balanced attacking full-backs in the game.

Indeed, the 25-year-old has even been singled out for his “world-class vision” by journalist Zach Lowy. He might be on the wrong side, but this would certainly help to ameliorate Alexander-Arnold’s looming departure.

Club Brugge's Chemsdine Talbi in action with Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso

As per FBref, Cambiaso actually ranks among the top 12% of full-backs across Europe’s top five leagues over the past year for shot-creating actions, the top 5% for pass completion and the top 9% for progressive carries per 90, emphasising his athleticism and creative flair.

A carry is considered progressive if the ball is moved towards the opponent’s goal at least 10 yards from its starting point or is carried into the penalty area.

That’s not to say Kerkez isn’t a holder of such virtues himself, but if we refresh ourselves with the table above, he’s not yet as refined or relentless as the Italy international.

With so much upheaval set to take place at Anfield this summer, Liverpool may do well to welcome Cambiaso to the ranks. He won’t come cheap, but there are scant few superior options across Europe who could make the marked improvement on Slot’s already-thriving team.

Ex-Arsenal star who’s watched Cunha for years reveals trait Arteta loves

As Arsenal go in search of attacking reinforcements, Arsenal Invincible Philippe Senderos has revealed the trait that Matheus Cunha has that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta loves.

Senderos reveals why Arteta would love Cunha signing

Although the name Alexander Isak has been threatening to steal the headlines in recent months, Arsenal could yet turn towards the cheaper Matheus Cunha. When signing a new contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers instead of completing a move to North London in January, the Brazilian made sure that a release clause worth £63m was included – allowing the Gunners to potentially swoop in.

Compared to Isak’s reported £120m price tag, Cunha could quickly turn into a bargain deal if he completes a move to The Emirates before solving Arteta’s biggest problem.

The Spaniard has been desperately searching for an attacking solution all season, even turning towards defensive midfielder Mikel Merino in the face of several injuries. It’s a problem which has all but ended their title hopes, with Liverpool sitting 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League, but one they simply must fix this summer.

If it is to be Cunha those in North London turn to, then Arteta could instantly benefit if Philippe Senderos’ verdict is anything to go by. The former defender believes that the forward carries a trait the Arsenal manager loves.

Real Madrid make “fresh” Martin Zubimendi move that “will rock” Arsenal

The Galacticos are now attempting to hijack Arteta.

In an exclusive chat with Football FanCast, Senderos said: “I know Matheus Cunha well. He was in Switzerland when he first came to Europe and then moved to Germany. So I’ve seen his progression over the years and he’s a great player.

“You don’t really know what’s gonna happen next with Matheus Cunha, he’s gonna do dribbling, the way he uses his body, the way he gets into positions is really really interesting and this fact that he’s not predictable is very very exciting. I think that’s what you want from a striker.

“Does he fit into this current Arsenal squad? I’m sure at Arsenal there is people who are more qualified to be able make this judgement and to see if it is a target for Arsenal. What I like about him is that he can play multiple positions as well.

“He can play on the wing or up front and I think that’s also something that would suit Arsenal in this current side because Mikel likes to have players who are flexible.”

“Great” Cunha could solve Arsenal’s problems

With 15 goals in all competitions for a struggling Wolves side, Cunha is only just getting started in the Premier League. A top move undoubtedly beckons for the former Atletico Madrid man who looks destined to make his return to the big stage at long last. And Arsenal should make sure it’s Arteta’s side who reap the rewards for that return.

    matheus cunha

Next to the likes of Bukayo Saka and the emerging Ethan Nwaneri, Cunha could form the deadly attack that the Gunners have lacked all season. Then, and perhaps only then, will they be in position to finally end their wait for another Premier League title.

ChatGPT correctly predicted King Charles' cancer flare-up two days before hospital visit

It was a terrifying Thursday for the British Royal Family. King Charles, who continues to battle cancer, had to be hospitalized and left many on edge. Ultimately, it was announced that he was dealing with “temporary side effects” from his cancer treatment. He returned home to Clarence House not too long after, but it was a reminder of how delicate his health is.

Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, Charles has made numerous public appearances since he was initially diagnosed. He hasn’t let it stop him, and he has looked in good spirits lately. But there was a moment during the launch of Queen Camilla’s reading room medal that may have predicted Charles’ hospitalization two days later.

ChatGPT noticed “mild discomfort” in King Charles’ body language days before hospitalization

Greta Heggeness of purewow noticed Charles’ body language seemed a bit off during the event. She then asked ChatGPT to analyze the photo that captured the moment, and the result was very surprising.

King Charles III’s body language in this image conveys a mix of attentiveness, reservation and perhaps mild discomfort. King Charles’s body language in this image suggests that he is present and attentive but slightly detached.

The thing that stands out, of course, is the “mild discomfort” that ChatGPT noted from the picture. There were other pictures from the event in which Charles appeared more confident and in a normal state, but there may have been at least one telling sign that something was bound to happen very soon.

Chiefs want to boost Mahomes era with Georgia defensive talent

The Kansas City Chiefs could bolster their defense in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to ESPN analyst Matt Miller’s latest projection. In the recent mock draft, Miller anticipates that the Patrick Mahomes-led team will select Mykel Williams, a standout EDGE from the Georgia Bulldogs, with the 31st overall pick.

Williams, known for his physical prowess and ability to rush the opposing quarterback, was particularly impressive in 2024 when he recorded four sacks in two games against Texas. However, consistency has been his biggest challenge, partly due to an ankle injury that affected him during the season.

Despite showing areas for technical improvement, Williams possesses considerable potential that could flourish under the Chiefs’ renowned ability to develop young defensive talent. This strategic move would allow the team to further strengthen a key defensive unit to maintain its championship aspirations.

  • Solution to Chiefs' offensive woes could come in NFL Draft that would mask Patrick Mahomes' biggest weakness

Solution to Chiefs' offensive woes could come in NFL Draft that would mask Patrick Mahomes' biggest weakness

Every offseason is important for every NFL team. Rebuilding teams need to hit home runs particularly in the NFL Draft. Average teams need to do that and make shrewd free agency moves in order to reach the next level. And elite teams have to do enough to keep their rosters intact and improved.

The latter certainly applies for the Kansas City Chiefs. After a brutal showing in Super Bowl LIX, the front office must come up with ways to address needs while also retaining players who were set to leave. They’ve started working on that, but there’s more to go, especially with offensive line and wide receiver still having question marks.

Patrick Mahomes honors his grandmother’s legacy every time he takes the field with the Chiefs

While the offensive line was the most exposed unit by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, the wide receiver corps was not far behind. No one was able to get open in that game, aside from rookie Xavier Worthy. Worthy’s explosiveness was on full display, and the team needs more of that from their wide receivers if Patrick Mahomes is going to get back to his very best.

Luther Burden III could be the wide receiver Patrick Mahomes needs

Rashee Rice will be back from his injury eventually, and the team brought back Marquise Brown, but could the Chiefs look to the NFL Draft to find another playmaker at the position? That’s where Missouri‘s Luther Burden III could come in.

Mahomes’ deep ball decline has been well-documented. Since Tyreek Hill left the Chiefs, Mahomes’ deep passing has steadily gotten worse and worse, culminating in a terrible 2024 season in that aspect. Not even Worthy could save him, as the rookie struggled to separate at a frequent rate.

Burden is electric when he turns on the afterburner, knows how to track passes very well and plays bigger than his size would suggest. The question will be if Burden makes it all the way to 31st overall. His draft stock has been slipping, but the Chiefs may have to trade up to get him.

  • How Liverpool can quickly move on from Trent Alexander-Arnold saga

How Liverpool can quickly move on from Trent Alexander-Arnold saga

Trent Alexander-Arnold found himself at the centre of discussion during the March international break despite injury ruling him out of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.

Reports have finally revealed the inevitable, with the 26-year-old almost certain to leave Liverpool this summer and join Real Madrid. Naturally, the thought of the Scouser treading the path previously walked by Steve McManaman and Michael Owen has not gone down well on Merseyside.

Liverpool had already been dealt two sizeable blows prior to the international break as they were dumped out of the Champions League and beaten in the Carabao Cup final. The Reds are now seeking to move past on and off-field disappointment swiftly as they hunt Premier League glory.

Here is how they can do just that.

    Darwin Nunez, Andy Robertson

Liverpool are 12 points clear of title chasers Arsenal / Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/GettyImages

It sounds simple, right? Well, it certainly could be.

Liverpool already find themselves 12 points clear of Arsenal after the Gunners won their game in hand before the international break. They need another 16 points during their final nine matches to guarantee top spot – just five wins and a draw from their remaining fixtures. Dropped points for Arsenal in the coming weeks would also lower the total required.

The earliest the Reds can win the title is within the next three matches but it’s more likely that they will have to wait until the end of April or beginning of May to mathematically secure the crown – barring any disastrous implosion in the next few weeks.

Wrapping up the title as quickly as possible and eliminating any nerves around Anfield will allow Liverpool supporters to relax heading into the final games of the campaign and restore that feel-good factor. Every subsequent match can be celebrated with a party atmosphere, with the prospect of Alexander-Arnold’s exit pushed onto the periphery.

    Jeremie Frimpong

Conor Bradley could well be considered the long-term heir to Alexander-Arnold’s throne but Liverpool will undoubtedly aim to sign another right-back this summer. Whether that’s a guaranteed and established starter or another young talent capable of competing with the Northern Ireland international remains to be seen.

But Liverpool must swiftly identify their transfer targets – a list was likely compiled some time ago given Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation – and begin discussions over summer moves. The England international will be extremely difficult to replace but there are some impressive names who could help fill the void.

    Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have not signed new deals yet / Carl Recine/GettyImages

Alexander-Arnold will be sorely missed at Anfield next season, especially considering his status as local hero, but Liverpool can still appease supporters with contract renewals for their other stars. Both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are still on course to be free agents this summer and the Reds can’t afford to lose three hugely influential figures in one transfer window.

Alexander-Arnold’s exit will certainly enable funds to be poured into fresh terms for Salah and Van Dijk and there remains a chance that at least one of the exceptional duo put pen to paper.

Extending contracts for Salah and/or Van Dijk would undoubtedly raise morale among supporters and the playing squad, not to mention just how significant deals would be on the field come next season.
