    After the Vanderbilt Commodores upset the Alabama Crimson Tide one week after they beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the game of the year, so far, things changed in the rankings. Alabama dropped all the way down to number seven.

    Despite having a remarkable comeback in Berkley, Miami only managed to reach the sixth spot in the rankings, but their undefeated status could eventually inch them closer to higher spots if they keep winning.

    Tennessee also is in that pack, as they are in the eight step of the raking ladder. Boise State after another dominating win, they are in 17th, one place back of the Utah Utes and in front of Kansas State, Indiana and Oklahoma.

    Missouri did not look good but they were in the Top10 so they are now at 21, while Pittsburgh is now 22 with Illinois 23. Michigan is number 24 but the SMU Mustangs crack in the Top 25 with the last spot, so keep an eye on them.

    This past Saturday, Williams played a critical role in Alabama‘s thrilling 41-34 victory over No. 2 ranked Georgia in Tuscaloosa, putting up numbers that most seasoned players would dream of. But for Williams, it was just another day to prove why he’s destined for greatness, despite being a full year ahead of his academic timeline.

    Born in 2007, Williams should still be a high school senior at Saraland High School, Alabama. However, after three standout seasons at Saraland-including a heartbreaking 31-28 state championship loss to Clay-Chalkville-Williams made the decision to reclassify, jumping from the 2025 class to 2024 and enrolling at the University of Alabama early. This decision has paid off, not just for Williams, but for Alabama as a whole.

    Last weekend, Williams showcased his explosive talent with six catches, 177 receiving yards, and a game-changing touchdown. His highlight moment came in the final minutes, with Alabama needing a big play. Williams snagged a deep pass from quarterback Jaden Milroe, spun past defenders, and sprinted 75 yards to the endzone, delivering Alabama’s winning lead in spectacular fashion. His swift moves and relentless energy had the crowd roaring, while two Georgia defenders collided trying to stop him.

    Williams was a household name in Alabama

    But before taking on the college stage, Williams already had a legendary high school career. As a sophomore, he was crowned Alabama’s Mr. Football-the first underclassman to receive the honor-thanks to a season with 1,641 receiving yards, 24 receiving touchdowns, 700 rushing yards, and 15 rushing touchdowns. His junior year wasn’t far behind, as he added another 1,324 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns to his resume.

    Fast forward to this season, and Williams is off to an electric start for the Crimson Tide. Through four games, he’s already amassed 462 receiving yards and five touchdowns, including an unforgettable college debut against Western Kentucky, where he put up 139 yards on just two catches.

    Despite being young for the collegiate spotlight, Williams has already proven he can compete at the highest level. His rapid rise is rewriting expectations and showing that the choice to move forward early may be exactly what Alabama needed.

    Everyone thought it would be a great game, but this was just over the top. Alabama had a huge lead, and Georgia came back to take the lead but in a heartbeat, they lost it again and the Crimson Tide survived at home and beat the Bulldogs 41-34 to remain undefeated.

    Bama built a 21-0 lead in the first quarter with an inspired Jalen Milroe who was throwing the ball al over the place and running for first downs. Towards the half, the Tide had a 30 to 7 lead, and nobody thought Georgia could return in this one.

    But the Bulldogs slowly but surely came back with a third quarter touchdown plus a two-point conversion and after an Alabama field goal, starting the fourth quarter the visiting team from Georgia once again scored.

    The crazy last minutes

    It was 33-21 late in the fourth and the Bulldogs got to the endzone once again and then got a stop, all mayhem got loose. Down by five and with under three minutes to go, Carson Beck was unleashed as he let go of the ball to find a wide-open receiver to take the lead.

    The Dawgs went for two but could no convert and the mayhem continued. On the ensuing possession, Milroe once again went deep to find Ryan Williams for a 75-yard connection to re-take the lead and after going for two points, it was 41-34 with under two minutes to go.

    Still Georgia had another chance. They drove down the field and with seconds left, Beck fired towards the endzone, but he was intercepted for a third time in the game and that sealed the win for Alabama. Milroe went 27-33 for 374 yards and 2 touchdowns, one interception, and he also carried the ball 16 times for 117 yards and two more scores. Williams had six receptions for 177 yards and the touchdown.

    For Georgia, Carson Beck threw the ball 50 times, completing 27 passes for 439 yards and he threw three touchdowns. Arian Smith had six receptions for 132 yards and and a touchdown.
