This time around, he took a little bit of the back seat while some of the biggest legends of the game led the team to winning the Gold Medal. During the previous Olympic Games he attended, Booker was way more important to the team than this time around and he needed to make some adjustments. After doing so accordingly, he could understand how important it was for him to be part of that time that made history. Contrary to other players within that team, Devin Booker also managed to understand his place on the team without making a scene.

    Booker won the Olympic Gold medal but he wasn’t the same prevalent player he was during the previous Olympic Games he attended. But more importantly, the Phoenix Suns star took a humble test that placed his ego in its right place and left him an unforgettable experience. One of the main aspects he took from this experience was the fact that Booker finally lived through the experience of playing alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry. He understood that completely as he told a reporter this: “This experience was totally different from the first one. Not taking anything away from that, but the atmosphere, obviously Stephen, LeBron joining us, this experience is going up there with any other experience in my lifetime.”

    Devin Booker’s experience was completely different to what Kevin Durant went through, mainly due to KD’s experience in the Olympics. With the Gold Medal he won, that is the fourth time he get this distinction and he got similar treatment compared to Bron and Steph. Durant is also considered one of the biggest legends of the game. While Devin Booker is still young, he hasn’t won a single NBA championship and he seems poised to be that same leader these three were by the time the next Olympic Games come knocking on his door. Come 2028, the event will take place in Los Angeles and Team USA will be the local.

    Suns star Devin Booker and Doncic hold one of the NBA’s biggest rivalries, and it was certainly the latter that had the last laugh.

    After the game, Booker was asked if things were going downhill for the Suns: “No. We have to get it together. And that’s on me, that’s on coach, that’s on KD, Eric, all the leaders we have in here to make sure that we’re more prepared when we come to play.”

    Durant, 35, and James hugged each other after the game in a sign of respect between two legendary veterans.

    Durant finished the match with a game-high 39 points, outscoring the rest of his team’s starters combined.

    Anthony Davis bounces back in a big way

    The Phoenix Suns (36-29) overcame the Dallas Mavericks (33-32) Sunday at American Airlines Center in a back-and-forth clash that ended with a scuffle between Luka Doncic and Devin Booker.

    Doncic, 24, spoke to the media after the contest and sent a message to Booker, 26, who also commented on the incident during his postfame press conference.

    “Next time, don’t wait until there’s three seconds left to talk,” Doncic said.

    Booker and Doncic were both seen laughing during the altercation, fortunately not escalating into a violent confrontation.

    “You guys say you don’t want everybody to be friendly-friendly,” Booker said. “There you go, we got some smoke … It’s just two competitors going at it. Everybody speaks on how friendly the NBA is right now and don’t like that. I have no problem with Luka on or off the court, but when we’re competing, we’re competing.”

    Kevin Durant wins it for Suns

    NBA Twitter was quick to point out how Booker and Doncic have had beef since last season’s playoff series in which Dallas eliminated Phoenix.

    They also said that Booker must feel a heightened sense of power now that a legendary player such as Kevin Durant joined the Suns’ ranks.

    Durant, 34, scored a game-high 37 points, including the winning jumper with 11 seconds to play, lifting his new team to a 130-126 victory.

    Booker added 36 points, and Doncic scored 34 points despite a poor shooting night, going 8-for-23 from the field and 1-for-9 from deep.
